Hahahaha. Maybe they'll take pity and offer holidays to weary DSers John.

Musty probably hasn't thought about poetry during his escape.
I guess he meant to say he won't be back until Tuesday week then. How can anyone not think of poetry.

This seems to be a failed resuscitation. I'm a DNR myself - when it's my time I'll just go, though I'd prefer not to be there when it happens. (Not an original thought I know.)

If I'm right, it's an interesting insight.

..........If I'm wrong, sorry.
I can see where you're coming from, but no. I've been a bit of an emotional mess for a few days and them pesky aliens seem attracted by it.

I don't know what to say about your DNR status, except we know nothing of each other's real situation. Hoping you can stay with us for a very long time yet.

I'm probably wrong, not being a poet myself, but it seems to me that inspiration and creativity often come from quiet times contemplating on experience.. Everyone is different of course.

I fully intend to. It was after I'd lost people close to me that I decided to make an Advance Decision, but that doesn't mean I'm in a hurry.

I'm sorry to hear you've been having a bad time, though in your case it has been creatively productive, and displayed your sense of humour. Keep on keeping on.

True, although in this vicarious world contemplating others' experiences can work well too. All very much too well sometimes.

Understood, with great relief. I visualised a One (And Justice For All) situation.

Sorry for your loss.

Awe. Fanx Biz. I'll be fine soon. Been putting off going out, but now I must.

True! I shouldn't forget that. Imagination and empathy are wonderful things.

I visualised a One (And Justice For All) situation.
Wow! That's the stuff of nightmares.

Thanks for the good wishes.

I bet you're already out and will read this when you return.

I hope Musty brings back some fudge.

A Duck

Sweet fudge
from your hols
all in a box
label on sight
follow the scene
a gift to a one
share with a duck.

Hello Sandy. It's a long time since I had a piece of fudge.

John, I forgot to say that I think Musty probably intended to be back on Tuesday, but he was enjoying himself so much, he didn't want to leave. I also think his "online/now real" friends probably galvanized him to speed up production of his next book. Maybe.

Sorry Sandy. In order to tell you, I'd have to go there again and I'm just not man enough at the moment.

Biz: Thanks for the update on what you think Musty's up to.

Ok but try not to let stuff bother you, a problem shared is often a worry cared.

I was fast asleep when you wrote that. The chances are you 'll see him before I do - you night-hawks.

To wit to woo.

Strange Charm.

Where now then shall we go
and what more shall we do?
Now we know all that we know
is the target askew?

Seems we know what we are knowing,
but we don't know where we're going
and time keeps on flowing
and the population's growing.

Big science charts what seems,
but does not know what it means
to feel as ancient as all life,
or the meaning of one's wife.

How trivial it seems
to live out one's dreams
when the world is full of strife.
Time to sharpen one's knife?

How sad to live in fear
of each other. That's weird.
Time to make ammends,
or at least make friends.

[grr.. too may seems and means and not enough beans .]

It seems perfect to me John, (I mean the poem).

It's a quandary isn't it? I was watching the programme about the Incas, who seemed to have it all worked out........and then the Spaniards arrived!!!!

And as for the British..........shocking!!!!

Thinking about the enormous muddle fries the brain, and yet the world is full of fantastically clever and kind people..........what am I warbling on about? You've said it all in your poem.

Hope the beans turn up soon - you never know you might win the Lottery.

In the meantime, I think I saw a thread about an electric fence around Britain, so I'll go and see if it gives me any ideas.

Would probably be easier to dig a moat around the British Isles.

Thanks for your kind words on the poem. I hope some of those people you mentioned can come up with some good answers. I could only give us the same report I always used to get from school: "Could do better."

I've never bought a lottery ticket for myself. Have more than enough money already.

Hi everyone I loved the fudge poem Sandy I had a great time with Twass and Mrs Teapot, came back and was soon off to Avebury with my photographer. I think we'll have a good selection to illustrate the book, because he took over 900 That'll give me the push I need to finish transferring the poems from notebook to pc file.

I haven't had a chance to read all the contributions yet, but I shall do and then comment on each one. As much as I've thoroughly enjoyed my travels, it's always nice to be back

A moat, what a brilliant idea. I agree with "Could do better".

Also pleased you are comfortably off. I do buy a lottery ticket (in a little syndicate), but have often thought that winning millions would be more trouble than it's worth, Still not much danger there, and I can tell myself it's a way of contributing to charities and joys for other people.

There's no place like home. Pleased my wild guess wasn't too far out, but was beginning to wonder whether there was something more sinister and you'd been kidnapped.

I should really have posted before I went off again to Avebury Biz, but I didn't have a great deal of time Nice to see the thread's been busy

And we've reached 10,000 views, something each part has achieved

Good to see you back Musty Hope you had a lovely break and good that you've got so many photos to choose from, for the new book. I wondered if we'll get to see the author in any of them?

Happy rhymes.

Thanks John and Sandy In the end I decided not to appear - my presence in a photo was only to give scale next to a sixty-ton giant of a megalith It's near a road and we decided a passing car did the job better

Me and Musty have drunk our glass
If we drink anymore we'll be on our ass
I was with Mrs T when she posted this and we had a slight difference of opinion on the spelling of ass. I said it was arse but it doesn't really matter

Musty and I were eating pie
and washing it down with Pims.

Sincerely hope you all had a great time at the meet.
Belated thanks John, for the sentiments and the poem

And fall asleep
While angels weep
And then we'll be joined by Twass.
A nice adaption of Mrs T's poem Biz

EZ rap.

Just give me a beat man.
A framework to plan
how the next line should go.
That sort of sums up how I feel about writing poetry John. Sometimes it's not easy though

Perpetual Postponement..
And if I'm not mistaken
it's not such a bad day.
Among the many emotions expressed are these two lines, giving a true sense of hope. They stood out, but I enjoyed the whole poem John

The Great Flood
Clogged with cracks which are rarely planned
The salty lifeblood washing our metallic seas of life
Bringing with it grief and pain and strife
Nicely apocalyptic, this poem's so full of strong imagery. 'Metallic seas of life' is a great phrase - a very absorbing read throughout Allthings
