* Two hours can last forever, as you know Biz ![]() Two hours seems endless when you're waiting. Sorry to hear about your date - perhaps she was too drunk to come out. It sounds a tragic story. I can understand why life sometimes makes people take solace in drink, but it can so easily become a destroyer rather than a helper.

Why not just do the best that we can,
To make life, while here, a pleasure to Man? This really hit home for me and touched on so many things that are relevant now. I like the style of the poem and the lose format. It suited a piece that asked so many questions. And what relevant questions.I find there's nothing but ignorance in some people. Luckily they're still a small minority. But in busy places, maybe at a shopping centre on a Saturday, you'll find them. They shout, don't move out of the way, spit, let their kids make a racket and on and on. I shop at seven in the morning or in the middle of the night. Anything to avoid the ignorant Jeremy Kyle herd. Terrific poem Flower

The Piper by William Blake 1757-1827
Piping down the valleys wild, Piping songs of peasant glee, On a cloud I saw a child, And he, laughing, said to me: 'Pipe a song about a lamb!' So I piped with merry cheer. 'Piper, pipe that song again;' So I piped: he wept to hear. 'Drop thy pipe, thy happy pipe; Sing thy songs of happy cheer!' So I sang the same again, While he wept with joy to hear. 'Piper, sit thee down and write In a book, that all may read.' So he vanished from my sight; And I plucked a hollow reed, And I made a rural pen, And I stain'd the water clear, And I wrote my happy songs Every child may joy to hear. |

iPod, Therefore I Am
Texting, texting, texting, Addicted to weird babble, The herd must buy the next thing From boffins who must dabble. iPod, iPod, iPod, It's such a boring story, For if an iPod's your god You'll miss all nature's glory © |

© ![]() I couldn't help laughing when tablet computers were founding wanting (what a pest having to hold them up in your hand), and stands came onto the market - then cases (I think). I love the way clamshell mobile phones are coming back so that inadvertent calls aren't made. I once heard a son's conversation with a friend in a car when unknown to him, his phone made a call to me. Could be very embarrassing. |

It.
There's a creature in the sky. I don't know where, or why, but it knows it simply must satisfy its lust for life among the stars. Its galaxy is ours. It senses solar breezes. When something in it ceases to love just where it's at; it fully knows that it must be on its way. It sleeps a whole day. Sweet dreams of life so rich. Convinced they are a glitch. Not a place which can be found. So much barren ground had it scrutinised so long. It was growing less strong. On waking in the light of a star less bright than many it surveyed. It kneeled down and prayed. |

You're good at giving us puzzles John. I've pondered and cogitated - a comet? a spaceship? though they couldn't kneel down, so I've decided it must be a spaceman.............or am I too literal? ![]() Put me out of my misery. |

Nanook's Journey (an alphabetical acrostic)
A Bark Canoe Drifted darkly, Elegantly, mutely Floating acutely Guiding the crew Holding just a one Its occupant, on a brave Journey, native Kayak is Lopsided, Red Man called Nanook onward glided; Oilskinned coveralls Protected from squalls by Quilts made from a Rich harvest of Seals skins he prospected; Threat to life unsuspected Unexpected! Alack! Violent arrival of rivals War party - attack!!! X eskimo since PCs "Inuit" though he never knew it, nor could he intuit; Young Nook gets off the harpoon's hook like an ever so slippery arctic seal; Zigzagging to an igloo, unbagging says: Here hun, is it you? Tallest Poppies
David Beckham they reviled, Sent to gaol was Oscar Wilde, Why must fools abuse? Ollie Reed could get no work, David Icke was deemed a jerk Just for different views. Betjeman was shown the gate, Alex Ferguson they hate, Judging kings in haste, David Lean filmed nothing poor, DJs banned Cliff Richard for Nothing, what a waste. Morrissey was forced abroad, Dirk Bogarde left in accord, Many have fled town, John Lennon was given crap Just because he wed a Jap, Isn't that a shame? Bobby Moore they treated bad, Tallest poppies end up sad When they are cut down. |

When they once shone, and showed their graces. And made a mark on all our faces. And now they are gone, they left us with song. |

Questions in 2014...
Why do we live? Why do we die? We wonder as life passes us by. Why are we here? is there more than this? We wonder, as some are in ignorant bliss. Why not just do the best that we can, To make life, while here, a pleasure to Man? Why do we compete, to see who's the strongest? And live in fear, to live the longest? Are we happier, now, today, than our old relatives in their hay day? Where are we going wrong, when try as we might, We still don't seem, to have got things right? Oh my goodness, I have just spent a week away with a friend and we had a conversation exactly and I do mean exactly like this on Tuesday, due to stuff we have going on and the way some people we care about are being treated. Flower, are you reading my mind? ![]() 'I remember' really beautiful. I was in Deal on the Kent Coast could not access internet easily, so gave up, but have enjoyed catching up so much. Honestly, there is some amazing writing here, I just love it.Could be a DS poetry book. Why not? There's an underground poetry book. Still, there's always musty's book to look forward to. ipod,Therefore I am, oh yes.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning gets Google treatment
Elizabeth Barrett Browning gets Google treatment.
(at age 208) I love Google let me say the ways, Mrs. Elizabeth Browning is today's anniversary babe and its image or doodle marks birthday celebrations. Shows her in then life's sweet blaze, afire from the love of Robert a poet fellow, who waylaid wan and lonely Miss Barrett of that Wimpole Street. Poetry and passion were there both to meet; to drier Italy the dear duet went away, met more clement clime but a too short time was sad Lizzie’s fate yet in Google’s web pic. she is looking not bad as this gal’s a dizzy two hundred and eight, years in age; Google I bless for they put a poetess headliner, a shiner on the front page. |
