Lovely Sandy Funnily enough me and a friend bumped into an old boy she knew today. His elderly dog was with him too, a nice old woofer called Muttley
Thanks Musty

Muttley is a nice name for a doggy

I was at a Carnival today, even though it was raining, much fun was had. We met Tiger the dog today, along with his owner and his wife. Tiger was running all over the place and we thought he was lost but he wasn't, he just loved to roam about and at one stage he started to yap a lot.

There was also a woman cartwheeling in a dress and I was quite shocked when she showed more than she should have. She was enjoying herself but still, time and place dear.

No, I think she does cartwheels only once in a while. Her husband found it funny, her daughter was embarassed. She always seemed so quiet and reserved whenever I've seen her in the past.

Sounds about right Sandy I have a very heavy personal poem to post but Sunday doesn't feel right for it. I may post it Tuesday, as I'm away overnight on Monday.

Is it a new poem?

Are you going anywhere nice on Monday?

Yes Sandy, it's one that's been wanting to appear for a long time. I'm staying over at my brother's in London on Monday night, but before that in the daytime I'm going to the Tate, my favourite art gallery. Not the modern one thankfully There's a great collection of Blake's art there, my favourite poet

Have a nice time at the Tate
I just had a look at William Blake and it's quite a coincidence but the guy I saw with the dog looks a little like him, isn't that strange.

Very - this thread's always been full of coincidences though Sandy. There have been some quite bizarre ones too. I think poetry has a special power that reaches out and brings people and maybe thoughts together, like music does. I can't really explain what I mean, but there's something a bit cosmic behind it

Thanks for your kind wishes

I understand it as coincidences amongst many paths, some clearly, some altered, some unacknowledged but a path all the same, for where it leads is a path much travelled and with amusement along the way.

The poem could upset some religious believers I guess. It's not meant as a statement of fact though - I don't think we'll ever know all the answers.
Children are told so much that might not be true. There are lots of conflicting theories about so many subjects. We all have to come to our own conclusions - or shrug our shoulders. The choice is ours.

You've summed it up perfectly Sandy

A Tree through the Seasons

A tree stood in its winter lair,
Sad every leaf was going,
The branches now were nearly bare
Where once they had been glowing.

Then on spring's new and verdant track
It suddenly felt pleasant,
No single wonder did it lack
From nature's early present.

Blown by a breeze in summer’s sway,
The tree looked full and floral,
I deemed it hard to look away
From beauty so pastoral.

When autumn started to regain
The leaves were not redundant,
Ablaze in the October rain
Their flame was so abundant.

I smiled to see how bright they thronged
Before they all fell down;
Throughout the year the tree had longed
To wear its golden crown.

Hello Musty, don't let a little rain put you off, it might be good for you to meet other poets.

I managed to get a book called What Einstein Told His Barber for 25p yesterday

The barber might have been too busy listening to what he was saying.

That sounds interesting. Hope the rain cleared up for you - it'll be interesting to hear how it went.

To me the Winter Tree, stands proud and strong.
Knowing a New Day will soon follow along.

When 'our' winter comes, we look and see,
The buds of hope hidden in that Winter tree.
