In awe of Jupiter
Jupiter Jupiter None can destroy Or deflate Space's great Bringer of joy. Stormy mass Made of gas, Seen as the One In a robe Zeus's globe, Fifth from the Sun. With a spot Wild and hot, Vortex of dread To the last Whirling fast, Jovian red. Belts of light Shining bright Vast is the core, Jupiter Jupiter I am in awe. © |

What a lovely uplifting poem! I'd like to see this re-posted near or on the big day, it'd really suit the mood.
Thanks for sharing this Wizzy ![]() Jupiter has always been a fascination of mine, well the solar system has. I liked the way you describe it in your poem. Have you ever had a book published Musty, or do you write for pleasure and have files of sixty million poems stored throughout your living room?

The Old
In cafés contemplating The past and sipping tea, Some spend the hours waiting, Some live beside the sea. With faces lined by gladness At photographs they peer, Remembering in sadness When relatives were near. If any neighbour bothers To chat or share a smile, The loneliness that hovers Is held at bay a while. The time is filled with reading, As evening looms ahead They sit on benches feeding The grateful birds with bread. Society estranges And tends to leave them cold, A world of rapid changes Forgets about the old. I watch the sun that sets here, Now I'm in autumn's spell And when the winter gets here Then I'll be old as well. © |

Finding
Do you remember I said I would find you though you were lost do you remember when all that time had passed amongst the many there walked asleep as many searched for something to awake from dreams of escape I give you love here where you are free as you then can be. |

Separation
Separation in minds made twin no resolve or very little gives signs of undesirability with chaotic release all in the mix his autocue stutter her transatlantic drawl tempter alight temptress ablaze nothing worth saving save for neon shadows poster contemplation in minds once twin ...that's the first time I've tried to write an actual poem. Does it even work?? xD |

Spring stirs, warming the earth; awakening.
Slumbers break to memories then draw the mind to new beginnings and loves. Shoots, slowly unfurling from Fate’s shadow, reach out to summer’s warmth while feelings touch back … cast into the full shine of the season. And I think of you incautiously. Trees, gilded by death, close in and the days contract to Winter’s chill, then will love be kept at arms’ length? Though time will bring answers filtered through fears, be it a burden to bear through Christmastime and into a new year. |

You’re wearing pretty well, my love, you’re wearing pretty well, you’re getting near fifty, my love but who can truly tell? Your face remains unlined, my dear, your body’s slim and neat, your eyes shine bright, as clear as ice, and you have such pretty feet. Your mind is sharp and quick and clear, your intelligence is profound, your interests span the universe and your wit and wisdom both astound. But when you look in the mirror I wonder what you see. Do you see the joyful, beautiful woman? Do you see the same as me? |

Possibilities
I want to write but I do not know what, to share the world with you through the written word but how best to do so? It can be tricky, to find the right words to explain all there is to say. Perhaps I should cover nature, wild weather, rural peace, mountain retreats, adventure and mishaps, the animal kingdom - so many glorious aspects exist... or our own species, the great and good of our fellow people, let alone our own turmoil, joy and sorrow, evil and compassion, hope and despair. Maybe I should touch on friendships, relationships, mutual companions, love and hurt, betrayal and bliss. What else is there? in this big wide universe we may be but a speck - does this make you sad, or excited by the possibility, of what may be out there? will we ever know?. There are so many questions we could ponder, so many feelings and emotions to be expressed, so much, a world of potential, lifetimes of mistakes, achievements, so much to cover, where to start? the choice is endless... pick up your pen, or poise your fingers above your keyboard and see what comes to mind, for all the creativity you need can be found, if you take the time to listen out for it. |

Apologies for my absence of late - I now only have four poems left to check for the book, one of which is going to be a complete re-write.
It's been a major slog but I'm nearly there

My Formula 1 Space-Vampire Girl
Who’s accelerated into my life like a Ferrari racing car? Who’s taking me, lap after lap, to every cocktail bar? Who’s driving my heart-rate crazy at a million beats an hour? Who makes me feel ten thousand cc’s thrust of power? Who is it, in my life, who’s roared into my pole position? Who do I long to love in a head-on sex collision? Who drives me madly around the circuit of my life? Who do I want to make my Penelope Pit-Stop wife? Oh no, not again, she’s set my life in a whirl. Oh no, not again, she’s my Formula 1 space-vampire girl. Who’s the one who’s turned my life into an expanding supernova? Who makes my lust blast off over and over and over? Who’s taken me from the third, down a worm-hole, to the fourth dimension? Who’s launched my dreams into space, to a distant constellation? Who’s boldly taking me to places I’ve never eaten before? Who’s the Big Bang in my life that I want more and more? Whose gravity has pulled me into the orbit of her planetary-warp? Who’s my sweet ’n’ neat Star Bug to my pulsating Red Dwarf? Oh no, not again, she’s made my universe expand ‘n‘ curl, oh no, not again, she’s my Formula 1 space-vampire girl. Who longs to bite me deeply and sweetly on my neck? And who’d make me ever so happy to be a blood-drained undead wreck? And whose blood-sucking beauty has me completely mesmerised? And who has the most gorgeous and deeply hypnotic eyes? Who only comes out at night when the sun has finally set? Who is the woman I’m delighted and excited that I’ve met? Who looks every day in the mirror to see she isn’t there? And whose bed of Llandudno earth do I long to share? Oh no, not again, she makes my desire unfurl, oh no, not again, she’s my Formula 1 space-vampire girl. She’s in the centre of my podium, the premier seat in my Odeon, my infinity and divinity, my Neo and Trinity. She’s Carry on Screaming, my sweet Fevre Dreaming, my lust and my fire, my deepest desire. Oh yes, again and again, in the oyster of my life you are my one true pearl. Oh yes, again, again, again and again, you are my Formula 1 space-vampire girl. |

I do write some poetry myself but its usually short. I love the micropoetry hashtag on twitter
