I on't understand how anyone can just dump cats/kittens like that its sad.
I'm glad you found them when you did.
I'm thinking of getting him a playmate from the cat protection home but i need permission of housing association first. They only let me have Spartacus because i kicked up a fuss and threatened to go to paper as some tenants had dogs in the block.
it was a lucky day when we found those kittens, my mum was disabled so i would visit every day,i noticed a box ontop of the bags but i walked past it, went in and asked her who put the box on her rubbish and she didnt know so i came back out and heard them meowing...we did report it to the police, rspca and cats protection but we ended keeping them she kept 2 and i took one home with me, they were about 6/8 weeks old so old enough to have been rehomed...sadly after my mum died we had to rehome her 2 and i havent seen them since. It wasnt the first time someone had dumped a kitten at my mums, years before one was tied in a carrier bag and thrown into her back garden, she had a huge dog who gently picked the bag up and took it into my mum...she kept that kitten too.
She was known for taking in all sorts of unwanted animals..im guess im just carrying on where she left off, im known as the crazy cat lady in my area lol

A playmate for spartacus would definitely keep him busy ..and keep you busy too...and god knows there are enough cats and kittens that need a home. I really hope you get the permission you need.

Some nosey b**** just had a go at me saying it'scruel to keep cats in flats :/
I pointed out most cats are quite happy being indoor cats and he has me and plenty of toys amongst other stuff. She didn't like it and said she calling RSPCA :/

let them call the rspca and they will see how well cared for your cat is so let them call them it will make them look stupid.

I live on 20th floor but i make sure any rooms that have windows open are off access to him.
I'm thinking of investing in some window netting or screens to just to be double safe. He spends most of day sleeping on my bed anyway lol so it gives me chance to get living room aired then at night he is in running around like a nutter i just make sure bedroom is secure and he can't get in whilst i air the bedroom.
When i go to bed i close windows as he likes to curl up next to me on the bed.

I would invest in those screens as you may think you won't let him in those rooms, but cats have a habit of getting in where you don't want them!
Indoor cats do need a lot more attention than outdoor, though there's lots you can do to make their environment more stimulating e.g.Lots of stuff to climb on even if you just make structures out of cardboard boxes, tunnels to explore, ping pong balls to bat around and yes, a fellow kitten if allowed

i bought some bouncy balls of Amazon he loves it when i bounce them of the walls he runs around chasing them. I spend hours on end doing this with him.
He seems to like scrunched up tin foil too i made a ball out of foil and it's his favourite toy despite all the toys i bought him lol.
I like your idea about making climbing blocks out of cardboard boxes i think i will do that. He sits on the window sill now and watches the world go by blissfully.

My two love straws. I mean the slightly bigger ones you get from fast food places. They can spend ages throwing them about, rolling them and generally going nuts with them

i have 3 cats and im in a flat, they have toys, scratch posts and food, they have everything they need and i will not let them out to get lost or run over...and im not sorry for doing it
i wouldnt worry about the rspca gother, almost everyone i know doesnt agree with me keeping mine inside and ive often been called cruel but they're safe and loved just as spartacus is, the rspca will not do any thing except have a look around and see how well looked after your cat is....i seriously dont know why people think its cruel to keep your cat inside but they think its fine to let them roam outside with all of those dangers.

Although the window netting is a good idea, especially if spartacus is a little houdini like some of mine have been

He's really coming out of his shell now. This morning he was diving at my feet and wrapping his paws around my leg nearly sending me head over heels.
He started swatting at my head too playfully lol.

He is gorgeous. We have two black rescue cats and they are indoor ones. I couldn't resist them even though they were incredibly shy but as they has been at the shelter for almost a year I couldn't leave them there any longer = sucker!

My two have been shown an open back door but other than sniffing they haven't shown any interest in going out so I'm satisfied they are happy indoors. Don't worry about what others think you've given your fur-baby a great home.

The RSPCA will not take your pets away for keeping them indoors. They will likely politely tell her to not contact them again unless they see a pet being abused or a wild animal in serious danger or with clear injuries before hanging up.

He is confident now runs around like a loon , attacks me when i'm not looking. I just got to try and stop him biting me when i'm petting him somehow.
Just this morning he was standing on his back legs waving his front paws lol. I think i've adopted a nutcase lol.

If he bites, make a loud noise and tap him gently on the nose or spray him with a little water. When he is friendly and not hostile, give him a treat and pet him. He'll learn quickly what is acceptable and what isn't. You can't stop their instincts but you can train them in regards to what is acceptable towards you.

i was told that when a cat bites try not to react in anyway and if they dont get any reaction they'll get bored of doing it...not easy when they're hanging off of your arm though

Our Charlie won't eat from his bowl while we are in the ktchen anymore. This follows an incident in which a drop of very hot water landed on his back while he was at his bowl and I was making a cup of tea.
Now he always waits until the kitchen is clear.

Bit of bad news The Housing Association have sadly said no to me having another cat or kitten.
Basically they have told me i'm part of their trial of allowing pets into the block. They did say though after the trial regardless of what they decide to do i will not have to re-house the cat as they have given me special permission , however if the trial is a success then they can look into me having another cat/kitten.
Poor Spartacus only has me for company and somehow he only answers to Sparky lol.

Had a nice chat with cat protection this morning who told me to just ignore that woman who says it's cruel to keep a cat indoors. They said ideally the cat should be allowed outside but obviously on the 20th floor that can't happen and most cats are quite happy to be indoors anyway.
They gave me some tips such as simple things like a cardboard box will give him hours of fun.
They reassured me that i'm not doing anything wrong and are posting me some leaflets on kitten care and said anytime i need advice they are only a call or email away.
I thought it was really nice of them and now i feel more confident in looking after Sparky.
Here's a new pic of him he is 15 weeks old or 16 weeks i can't remember lol. There are a few pics of him on there too.

Handsome lad, isn't he?

Just had a thought - being an indoor cat you'll need to keep an eye on his weight as he won't get anywhere near the amount of exercise an outdoor one would.
