Comic/Book/Audio/Classic Writers for New Who Would You Like?

Being (nearly) 50 years, Doctor Who has had many different writers, each one with their own style and ideas. They range not only across the televised series, but also across various books, comics and audio stories.

What writers that have previously written for Doctor Who, but not for the revival, would you like to see contribute to New Who? What do you think they could bring with them?

I've resurrected this thread as I didn't want to start a new one But there's a writer I've listened too recently that I thought would be perfect. His name is Simon Guerrier and I came across an audio drama series by accident he wrote called Graceless on Radio 4 Extra. I didn't realise he has written for Big Finish but I was really impressed by the depth he used for his characters. He writes complex real adult characters which could translate really well in writing for Doctor Who

I wouldn't say I have a wishlist. It's shame Robert Shearman never got into writing for the series. i think he had a bad experience with 'Dalek'. He was a proper good author, not just a good Doctor Who writer.

Simon Guerrier is very good too. I'm not hugely knowledgable about the audios but if I see he is the writer I'm more inclined to want to listen because those of his I've heard are usually very good.A particular favourite of mine is the 'Companion Chronicle' story 'Homecoming', read by Jean Marsh as Sara Kingdom.

I also really liked 'Year of the Pig' by Matthew Sweet, who I gather from DVD extras is also something of a Doctor Who historian (I won't say scholar because I think that is a little grandiose).

You can never tell how someone will adapt though really. I would have expected Neil Gaiman to make a very good Doctor Who writer but 'Nightmare in Silver' was abominable.
