Should The Voice Creator and Simon Cowell come together and make a new talent show?
They both have great ideas in terms of talent shows, I think if they came together they could actually make a unique show, they both, to me need each other, however their ego's would probably get in the way.
What do you think ? |

The Voice is supposed to stand for everything that X Factor doesn't, so it would be somewhat of a contradiction if they did.
That said, I wouldn't mind seeing The Voice being produced by Syco TV. They'd actually do it justice unlike the ones the BBC got in to produce it instead, because lets face it big scale reality shows are Cowell's speciality. |

I think John de Mol has more to do that create a show with the The Voice UK's rival, especially since by the sound of things, the OP is envisaging The X Factor with spinning chairs. Which is what The Voice is.
(then again, since this is also the man who created Big Brother and Deal or No Deal, the coaches could sit in giant spinny boxes whilst the Geordie narrator sings) |

They seem to do quite alright without each other! I'm not sure the market could support another singing talent show at the moment anyway. John De Mol and Talpa have been flogging The Voice Kids and The Winner Takes It All (a talent show/gameshow hybrid) but haven't found much success. Cowell seems to be looking away from singing shows at the moment. Simon Fuller is basically out of television altogether now.
The only singing format with any traction at the moment is "Your Face Sounds Familiar" from Endemol which has been sold quite extensively and will air in the UK and US this summer. And it's not a talent show as such, it's more Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes. |

I'm not a fan of The Voice, but it's a huge hit in the US where the big money is. USXF and AI are floundering. Why would The Voice creator want to work with Simon who has absolutely no idea what will work in the US?
