[GAME] Battle Of The Seasons 2 [Live Show 3]
Last time on Battle Of The Seasons, it was all about Eurovision and it was certainly cheese galore...without the wine on this occasion. Whilst many were worthy of the famous 12 points, others were close to scoring nil points (and Norway know that too well)! However in the end, it was Aiden Grimshaw's time to leave, which left Jacka with just one act left. Tonight, get dressed up, roll down the carpet and get your popcorn ready because we're off to the Movies! So let's hope we don't have any performances that obtain the booby prize.
![]() Fighting for your votes are these 11 nominees: jackamakka & The last of the 2010 Class The Reason Wong_Billabong & The 2008 Class Rachel Hylton JLS fireemblemcraze & The 2012 Class Adam Burridge Ella Henderson Melanie Masson MK1 yohinnchild & The 2011 Class Max Vickers Melanie McCabe Johnny Robinson Little Mix So welcome everyone to your Sunday night event which starts right here and with movies involved, it's bound to be. Let's hope we have a lively panel tonight as well, judges confirm your presence...and who wants popcorn? ![]() |

So none of you want popcorn? That's fine, I'll just put the popcorn bag over there!
![]() Okay, Roxie may not be here tonight, but I have her comments ready just in case. So let's kick off with the "11 class and opening the show with a song from the movie Twilight Saga, it's Melanie McCabe! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvjREhCozIU |

Melanie McC Wow that was so enchanting! It was like you were telling a story! So beautiful, so pretty, it was incredible. I really like you so far Mel, I feel your mentor is guiding you brilliantly. However, I also feel that Mel you need to work on an emotional connection with this, because that performance did sort of stay at the same level for me. I want you to really go for those high notes! But overall, really good. |

Excellent way to kick off the third live show tonight! You've but in two fantastic performances so far and we felt it was time to change it up slightly and go a bit more uptempo which I think you handled brilliantly. The vocals and the power is what I think makes you brilliant and what has made you stand out from the rest. I'm so glad that you seem to have picked up fans from the first two performances and I hope they continue to vote tonight. I loved it and you should be proud of yourself, Well Done! |

Melanie, that was a really beautiful performance! That song is very beautiful and moving and you really conveyed the emotion of the song and it felt like you really meant what you were singing. I'm very impressed Melanie, well done! |

So we start with great praise for our opening performer, will that trend continue through the night?
We're off to the "08 class now and with a song from the movie, Pulp Fiction, it's Rachel Hylton! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVFvEx2IYow |

Rachel Wowwowowo! Rachel I really enjoyed that. From that terrible performance last week, you’ve really picked yourself up and done what you’re good at which is soul! I loved it! I loved the way you got into it with Rachel-esque swagger. I love the raspy and husky voice you have, your mentor needs to use it and take advantage of it more in your songs! This is an example of how it can work! I loved it. |

Rachel that was better than your previous two performances but for me there feels like there is something which isn't clicking in the competition; I think the songs you've been given are too nice. It's a bit difficult to describe but I want something deeper, darker and with an edge. This song enabled you to show us you have a great tone and a great range and have amazing power, but I feel there is more in you that we aren't seeing. I hope you stick around though so we can see some of your potential unleashed. |

WOW! Rachel, that Blew. Me. Away! That was rock-tastic gurl! Your voice is amazing and it's really powerful and you've got a great tone which is so great to listen to and I imagine must be great to work with too. You're mentor is really doing you justice and in return you are doing them honour too. Well done! |

What a set of comments, now that is indeed more like it for Rachel, but will the public agree though?
Our third performance is by our first 2012 act, with a song from the movie, Let It Shine, it's MK1! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDn-IjrmO18 |

MK1 So, can David even say that you two are a one trick pony act? No! You are not! In the past two songs the focal point has been Sim’s rapping. Now it’s more of a conversation between both Sim and Charlie, with attention given to both. Both of them are important in this duo. We all know how incredible Sim is at rapping, but can we just give it up for Charlie!? Wow honey, those vocals were on fire and that last chorus at the end, you dominated it, singing those high notes. Tonight you’ve proven that you’re not only relevant, but you can sing amazingly too! |

I thought it was a bit of a welcome change of pace for you and I liked the fact that Charlie got much more of the action in this performance, saying that though I did feel parts of the song lacked a bit of edge. I'm going to be honest and say that I do think you are struggling to show versatility within the themes, but I think that's because of the type of act you are. It was a good performance but I don't think it was near your best, I do think you will get through and I'm interested to see you possibly try and change it up in the next show. |

Now that was pretty good guys! I liked both of your vocals and the rapping however it just felt a little too familiar to be honest. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying I'd like to see something that's a little different to a female vocal and male rapping performance. Regardless, it was a good job guys so well done

So taking the comments into account, will MK1 indeed get a chance to turn it up differently with each theme that comes along?
Now back to the "11 class, with a song from the movie, The Great Gadsby, it's Max Vickers! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWir6wUkPtw |

Max I quite liked it today Max. I really like the song (I’ve got a soft spot for anything rock). I loved the build-up then you going all out when singing the chorus. The only problem I had was that it’s a type of rock that doesn’t really suit your voice at all. You’ve got a much softer, smaller voice built for more classic rock. Albeit, for some reason I felt the chorus was slightly uncomfortable for both you and us, it was a bit screechy. You need something which is rock but much softer. |

Max Vickers
Max, I thought thatas fantastic and a bit of a change up to your last two performances. We looked back at your previous auditions and youtube videos before picking the song and I thought you put the same amount of energy and quality to this songthat you did in those previous songs. You handled the chorus parts well and they were far from screachy; we both know you can hit the note and the tone (as seen before) and you totally rocked it tonight! I hope people continue to support you and keep you in the competition. |

Now, Max that was undeniably good, but like Roxie said it wasn't really a type of rock which suits your voice and sounded a little strained at some points. Maybe try something, like Roxie said, classical rock style next time. But well done from a performance aspect! |

So it's good praise overall for Max, but will he be able to deliver his best performance next time?
Now it's time for our sing-off survivor and she is desperate to not fall into that situation for a third time. Singing a song from the movie, American Gigolo, it's Melanie Masson! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvmg0q-KHRs |

Melanie Mel, you showed Max how rock is done. You’ve got one heck of a voice. That was epic. I loved the chorus when you really went for it. All of those high notes you hit. It was a really energetic performance, full of power! Melanie’s got such a big voice and I finally did some rock with her and it looks like she was having a good time too .

Melanie Masson
You've had a bit of a rocky time on the show; in the sing off two shows on the trot and you really needed to do something in this performance to stand out and get back as a contender. My opinion of it however was that it was a bit of a frantic mess and I was glad when it was over. The vocals in the verses became swamped in the music and whilst I appreciate that you have a good rock voice I don't think that version of the song did you any favours. I do think that you could possibly be in trouble tonight after that performance. |

That's okay, Jacka, just catch up when you can.
So Melanie gets mixed comments once more, will she be in the sing-off for the third time in a row? Now next up is the "08 class, with a cover of a song from the movie, The Lion King, it's JLS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGffprhK0FY |

JLS I really love this song but for some reason this performance just didn’t work for me. The vocals just didn’t fit in with Aston’s soft vocals. And I don’t think type of performance is your thing at all. I commend you for doing something different, but it was too different for you! And you’re getting back to that first performance where it’s all just Aston and some backing singers. I want you together as a band! Those harmonies weren’t very succinct either. I’m a bit disappointed, considering I loved your performance last week and I love this song like crazy. |
