Bill Oddie Official BillOddie
My agent just called-"Is Bill available to do Celebrity Big Brother?" Well, folks what do you think? #bbuk

i'd be very surprised if he said yes
but i'd be quite happy if he did

He'd probably be quite good - he's a little wacky and outspoken.

But he's also got a temper and I think I read somewhere he suffers from depression or bipolar disorder, so I don't know why he'd want to put himself through the CBB wringer, given that he's still got a career and some semblance of dignity.

Love this idea...Bill Oddie and Big Brother is also the subject of one of my favourite Jimmy Carr jokes of all time.

"You know in Big Brother when they swear, they play in that bird song? I've gotten so used to that now when Springwatch is on I think the badgers are calling Bill Oddie a c***"

I hope he says yes.

Well going by his Never Mind The Buzzcocks appearance, he could be good. He was really funny on that.

Madonna wrote a song about him:

"Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, run your hands all over my body"

Julian did it and he still had a perfectly respectable career. I can't see the type of people that watch Bill Oddie's shows giving him the advice to do it though. (Present company excluded )

Btw that was a partial quote of him by BB Spy (who added the show's hashtag), his full tweet was:

Bill Oddie Official ‏@BillOddie 3h

My agent just called-"Is Bill available to do Celebrity Big Brother?" Well, folks what do you think? (It's a lot of money!)

I hope he says yes, he'd be a big coop name wise.

Maybe they don't realise it's all secret.

I doubt he'd post that he was approached if he was going to say yes.

Different generations may look at it differently. He openly admitted it was a lot of money for maximum 3 and a Half Weeks. He may very well do it.

Not really but it wouldn't stop BB trying to sign him up in the hope that he would kick off at some point

From an entertainment point of view? Yes.

Ah, Jimmy Carr; about as funny as gout.

Surely that's for him to decide with his loved ones.

Unfortunately the BB producers do not care whether housemates have personality disorders.

If he has any sense he'll say no as he'd only come across as a little, weird bearded, cranky old man that will be ridiculed.

That made me laugh and I had to sing it too.

er... I dunno , he's a bit 'unpredictable' shall we say , I just think there's a strong chance of him going a bit nuts and making everyone uncomfortable .

The fact that he has suffered from depression has no bearing on whether he could cope with the BB house. Depression can happen to anyone at anytime, it is as likely to happen to a retired billionaire in Monaco as it is to a jobless 20 year old living in a slum. It can happen to anyone at anytime. Pretty sure anyone considering entering the BB house is more likely to know what they can cope with.

It is easy money I guess but wouldn't really want him to stoop so low.

He seems a little mad but also intelligent and interesting. I doubt he'd want the company of the vain and the vapid.

I couldn't see him doing it, unless he's strapped for money. I'm sure he wouldn't want the world to see what a thoroughly miserable, unpleasant man he is.
