Ahem! Did anyone else notice that the music playing after her audition was her song all shiny and produced? It even had backing vocals going on. I've hunted around to see if there was already a song like it and there is a very close version about weed.

So it looks like since the auditions run several weeks (months) behind broadcast they already intend to get the single out there. In fact she may already be the winner for all we know or at least a finalist.

Listen after her audition when they are talking about her.

I heard it. So much of BGT is staged these days it's hard to separate the real from the fake.

Do you notice that they are always at the contestants homes as well ? It's so annoying, i wish it would go back to the way it was 2 years ago.

Me too. Remember Pop Idol and the YMCA girl's audition? BGT is nearly all VT footage of sob stories and desperate wannabe pleas. We hardly see any full auditions.

She'd better look out though, Alicia Keys seems to be copying her, wouldn't have thought she'd watch BGT.

It sounds more like some session singers doing the chorus really, nothing more

She will reach the final though as the kids will vote for her in their droves.

It did sound like they already have plans for her though, for a song that is supposedly her own composition, it sounded very familliar, no doubt wearing its influences on its sleeve. It obviously isnt the first song to sound like other songs but still...
Look at Diana Vickers' My Wicked Heart etc - the chorus was lifted right from Under the Bridge.

Or that awful girl Chair Lloyd, whos first single had the tune ripped straight from "oh my darling clementine". Cowell must be a pretty unoriginal music person.

My Darling Clementine is probably in the public domain I would think (not sure TBH ) Anyone know?

That's actually a rip-off of a number one single from a few year's back called Run This Town, except with lyrics about weed. Nothing to do with this Gabz' song, bar maybe one line. (of lyrics...)

Thing is, unless 'Gabz' knows how to write music, then it stands to reason that she's going to use songs she's already heard and liked as a template. And the law of averages would tend to say that a teenage girl would either be in to one direction or r&b.

Sounds very similar (not the lyrics) to a Lee Evans number that he performs at the end of his comedy show.

Just watching the repeat now..... when the judges were talking about it and putting her through, in the background was a well produced version of the song playing, and it didn't sound anything like it was Gabz singing???

If so that would just mean that you don't have to pay Royalties on it, not that you can abuse it and claim it's an original song by you.

Glad you confirmed it... I could just hear Rihanna when I was listening to that first link

The song reminded me of "No One" by Alicia Keys, for some reason.

I think it's a parody rather than a rip-off.

it does sound rather line Alicia Keys, in fact the whole act (the fake piano etc) is VERY like that.

A friend of mine who works with the show told me that they also scout people to come on the show, therefore do not audition the normal way.

The song will be in the ITUNES charts this Sunday or later today.

It reminded me of Alicia Keys too I was thinking that could be her singing.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed this.
They played a studio recording of her song just after she received 4 yeses from the judges.

That's an insult to Alicia Keys. With all due respect i dont see Gabx becoming a huge star like Alicia is.

At least she managed a couple of extra notes on the piano and even got some of the lyric in tune.

But - talented?
