Would you like it or not?

I would hate it if they did that. Also, I know many people will complain if they did that.

I think they did it in BBUS didn't they? (I don't watch it, but I've heard of that twist). Apparently it wasn't popular with the public because it lost a promising, big character.

I'd hate it! It's bad enough in the first week!

I don't like it - or when a housemate doesn't even enter the house like poor Benazir

Its a cheap trick to pull on anyone.
But then the producers don't really care about the meat they churn though anyway.

I don't like that idea at all, it's bad enough they evict someone the 1st week, but on the 1st night would just be crazy ......imo

It would be awful.
I think the earliest a housemate should be evicted is after at least 1 week. If the launch starts midweek then the first eviction shouldn't be until the next Friday the following week. I think every housemate who gets in at least deserves 7-10 days in the house.
Surely the producers can come up with a better twist to pull in viewers that won't leaving them feeling frustrated and annoyed at what could have been had a certain housemate survived.

NO. I would like them to be left alone for a full 7 days before putting them all up. now that's a twist.

No. What a godawful twist!

Any producer that considered it should be evicted before the show starts.

The BB11 launch was bad enough in that they "evicted" 68 of them, though some turned up later that year or the next.

I liked that launch
And the potential housemates knew the odds were against them, so they didn't have the disappointment of being a housemate, then having it snatched away.
But a quick eviction is unfair, especially as it's quite likely to be a lively character, as the quiet ones will fly under the radar. Didn't this happen in BB4 - and that definitely could have used some livening up.

it's probably my least favorite twist of all, why introduce us to someone only to get rid of them in such a short time.

no, get rid of that twist completely.

No definitely not.. There shouldn't even be an eviction in the first week let alone the launch night

Anouska was a victim of being to loud (according to the nom'ing hms) on BB4 launch night when they did the noms, she was a great loss to that year for sure!

I don't want any twists affecting noms on launch night (no one shoud be up-out-or-immune), leave them alone to settle in and get used to everything no noms for at least a week and first noms should be unmessed with, no one up automatically and no one immune.

Unfortunately there is bound to be some sort of launch night twist that has some bearing on the first eviction

I just wish they would let Big Brother play out without any twists or first night/week evictions and just give the viewers a chance to get an opinion of the housemates themselves.

Hate it. The whole idea serves no purpose, other than unnecessary cruelness.

There are plenty of things they could do to engage viewers and give them the chance to vote in the first week, for example which task they should give them or which housemate should be chosen to do the chosen task or even who should be immune from the first nominations or be head of the house etc etc.

I hate it when they nominate straightaway, it puts the nominated people under unfair pressure instead of letting them settle in and show their true personalities.

They've introduced so many good changes this year, I hope they don't spoil it by insisting on a silly twist or unfair first night nominations.

To be fair launch night noms have only occurred 3 times during the history of BBUK

Yep that happened last season, very unfair on the person who went but not sure if she was a promising character, although I do remember on live feeds the housemates use to say how they never liked her. Apparently she thought she was getting evicted because she was African american or something like that.

I agree. I hate it with a passion. Lynne, Anouska, Beinazir and Victoria probably wouldn't have won, but they never had a chance. And it is so rude and unfeeling to let someone battle through the entire audition/ selection process then evict them as a cheap gimmick before they have done a single task or even seen a shopping list. I think Beinazir's treatment may the second worst twist for a housemate, behind giving Conor half the prize money.

The only way I would be OK with a twist like this is if the day 1 evictee returns to the show should one of the others quit at some point.

They did this on the American version last year, and it was a complete waste of time.. pointless twist.
