Is this ilegal/going against broadcast rules to have an ad break after every act?

It is annoying but I presume it's because the stage needs to be cleared or set up for the act coming on after the break.

Yeah there's so many breaks. I always know when it's going to go on a break. It's generally like this
first act-->break -->second act-->break--> third and fourth act-->break-->fifth act-->break-->sixth and seventh act -->break-->eighth act--> break-->last act.

I think it's like that anyway or something close to that. I remember when I was able to record the auditions as the voice was on at the time I'd miss the first 10minutes of bgt. I'd watch it from the recording and end up catching up with the live show because there's so many ads.
