Will SImon sign Richard and Adam?
Anyone think Simon will sign the two opera singers or do we really need another Il Divo / Paul Potts/Jonathon and Charlotte.
Any odds that they will sing the exact same songs on their album as all these others. Nessun Dorma /Somewhere/Impossible Dream... ...yawnnnnnnnnnn. If they do make an album they should sing something different surely....we hope !! |

Yes - at least when he drops them in 18 months they can serve out their contract making the coffee and sandwiches at his offices.

Just come back off a cruise on the P & O Ventura, they were the headline act in the theatre one evening calling themselves The Johnson Brothers. An hours show, they were excellent. They must have already had that booked before signing for BGT otherwise Simon wouldn't have let them perform.
Another girl called Jessica was headlining in one of the dance halls a few evenings she was very, very good, my husband said she had one of the best and clear voices he had ever heard.. She said she got to the last 50 on the X Factor but Simon wanted her to sign that she wouldn't work elsewhere for a year so she refused and left. She thinks she made the right decision. |

I found that picking these two singers that did light opera very predictable. Simon will be able to market these two nice boys who will appeal to the middle aged women and the senior citizens.
I thought they were okay but nothing special. I would have rather along with the little girl would have liked to have seen Band of Voices and Aaron Crowe going into the final. |

Why are people so cynical and negative. I think they have a great future ahead of them. I didn't watch the show but watched on YouTube after hearing good comments.

His eyes were aglow during their performance and there's always a market of the uneducated for such bland pap.

Why oh why oh why do people keep calling then "opera singers"?
They are not "opera singers" and so far have not sung a single note of Opera on the show sofar. Ignorance is no excuse! Just because you can only see pop music and if it isn't that then it must be Opera, doesn't make is so. |

Adam did a very good version of 'Stars' 3 years ago which just happens to be my favourite song from Les Mis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQI_NqpNsIM |

They have terrific voices and I am sure they could sing opera if they chose.

Yes it is good as is all their stuff so far, but ALL are musicals and not Opera!

Without a doubt.
They have had something of a career already which I think is a bit of a con for the viewers, at first I thought they were humble chaps in pullovers who work in a butty bar, but then it all comes out... Whatever. I like their voices, there's something about siblings singing together that is easy on the ears, they have nice tones which match together very well. They deserve a career and to make a bit of brass, imho, they're talented and they've a good grounding. |

Nothing against the opera style at all. But it seems like any time a contestant sings a popular opera song on these shows, or a musical number sang in operatic style, it's automatically taken that they are a great singer who is world class and who has a great future as an opera singer ahead of them. Nessun Dorma, Pie Jesu, it appears that all somebody has to do is walk onto one of these talent shows and knock one of these out and it's instant standing ovation. ......Because it's opera. I think many people think that they're instantly cultured just by virtue of claiming that they like one of the popera songs that do the rounds on these shows. Any other genre of song and singers are judged with a more discernible ear. I don't even remember the last time a singer came onto a talent show singing one of these popular opera songs and Simon has told them it was one of the worst auditions he's ever heard. It's the sheer predictability of how just about all these opera type auditions go that I'm sick of. Not opera itself. |
