If I put my iPad face down on a printer to print a document from my Pages App. would it damage in any way my iPad?

No, it shouldn't do. But why would you want to put your iPad face down on your printer?

I gather its a Scanner/Printer, so they wanting to scan the IPad screen, not sure how it would come out.
All depending on printer type, there are Apps out there to enable printing from an IPad, Epson Print been one of those. HW |

I thought there would be a 'why' Convenience -to give someone a copy of a letter, quick and easy, no remote printing facility where I would do it.

It won't damage your iPad but I'm doubtful it would work unless you could disable the scanner light and just leave the scanner camera on.
Can you not email to them and leave the burden of printing with them? Make use of iCloud/Dropbox/Skydrive to access the document from a PC/Mac and print from the PC. |

I am a 'guest' worker in this particular office and have nothing to do with their printer apart from being allowed to use it without changing any settings etc.

Why not set up a temporary wifi hotspot using your mobile (I'm assuming a wifi only iPad)? Save off the Pages doc as a PDF then email it to someone.

Email the document or text to someone to print. |

It would be like taking a digital picture with flash off the iPad screen.
Just washed out. No image. Lot's of humour though. |

Wouldn't it be easier to take a screenshot and email that to them?!

Not sure if the front camera could be damaged by the light off the copier, if you do intend to do this it might be an idea to put something over the camera. But as others have said why not just email the document or take a screen shot which the iPad can do right out of the box.

Take a screen pic, power button and home button held down together, may take a few attempts to get the timing right!!

Yes, sorry I know it sounds utterly ridiculous and stupid.
But forgot to say, my iPad would NOT be on line, so E-mailing is out. I shall abandon the idea.. Thanks anyway. Hee Hee |

So do it when the ipad IS online. An ipad which is never online would be pretty useless IMHO

If you hold down the home button and sleep button together, the ipad will take a screen shot of the current screen content. From there you can email it to a computer, or whatever it is you want to do.
