I don't understand why acts go through from the audition with a 3-1 majority.
Now, in principle I don't have an issue, but it seems silly putting acts through only to cut them later without another chance to perform. So why not just make it 4 yes's gets you to the semis? The acts that have one detractor are likely the first cuts at the second phase anyway. |

The first 2 semi finals seem extraordinarily poor quality and the judges comments just sound like lies........something happens between auditions and the semis that make 75% of the semi acts look way below primetime tv standard.

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be 'different performance each round'

They only go through 3-1 to add a bit of drama

I'd bring in two rules:
1. If you do the same performance in your Semi Final as you did in your audition, then if you qualify for the final you must perform something different. (i.e. if you do different performances in the audition & semi final; then you can repeat one of them in the Final) 2. If you are a singer and you makes the recordings in front of the judges of another main UK channel singing talent show (BGT, XF, TV); then you cannot enter another UK TV singing contests of that type until the following year. |
