He has cerebral palsy and uses a walking frame and chair.

My male friend (well two of my male friends) both have CP. One uses a walker like Jack's just without a seat and has a wheelchair. The other relies on walking sticks & a wheelchair but also used to have (and probably still does) a walker aswell.
So no, he's not faking it

I didn't understand the judges standing ovation!! We could say they were patronising. But it seems the ' word ' is it's his talent they are appreciating. Nothing to do with his disability.
Sorry to sound harsh, but if it was an able bodied little boy standing
telling a few jokes, I really don't think all 4 judges would have stood up.
Won't be appreciated, but I too think he's definitely got the sympathy vote.

My mum also has CP & the amount of times I've heard that she might be faking it so I'd all shut up if I were you- you don't know what goes on in some disabled people's lives

Exactly. I have no problem in educating people about disabilities if I can but to accuse them of faking it when it's obvious they're not is something that grinds my gears.
Just like those with invisible disabilities are often said to be faking it because they're not obvious or we're having a good day etc.

Jack's talented, but I think without the disability the judges would be describing him as very good instead of amazing, fantastic, etc.
He was funny in the audition, but was rubbish tonight, and yes he probably got the sympathy vote. And before anyone has a go, I have a daughter who is mentally handicapped.

I think that's rubbish. There have been 3 or 4 child comedians/impersonators over the years. They've all had the same applause, adoration, some exaggerated laughs too. None of those had any disabilities, nor were that good.
Jack is considerably funnier than any of those. He wasn't as good as the audition tonight, but still the best by a mile.
The two young singing duo, if adults would've been dreadful. Jack as an adult would've still been pretty good. Better than plenty of pro stand ups in my opinion (eg Reg Hunter, Rich Hall, Lee Nelson).
I suppose it's quite hard for comedy acts to make a real impact and have that wow factor, when they are up against singers, dancers, etc, or any performances that have music and more energy.
May be he is getting sympathy votes but did not Pudsey get 'Ah, cute dog!' votes last year? Ash and Pudsey were fun but they surely weren't the most talented act last year.
