How does it work? Do the judges or the public decide between the 35 acts that did'nt make it through who is going to get the wildcard into the final?

I think it's the judges and I'm not sure whether its all 35 acts or just from the ones the that came top 3 but got rejected

I'm pretty sure the judges decide.

Historically the wild card has always come from an act which finished in the Top 3 in a Semi Final but lost out in the judges decision.

However, thinking back to the Semi Final of XF Series 7 on the Sunday of that vote they changed (with no prior warning) what had always happened before & what has always happened since where the public vote decided who would go through so on this one occasion the judges voted between the two lowest acts resulting in Cher Lloyd getting through to the Final at the expense of Mary Byrne.

Of course when the voting figures were made public Mary Byrne had comfortably beaten Cher Lloyd.

In other words it's Simon Cowell's ball; and he'll do what he wants with it.

Alice will get the Wildcard , IMO

I think it's between all the semi finalists who didn't get a place in the final and my money is on Alice, unless someone like Attraction fail to make it to the final which probably wont happen.

She won't. It's only between the acts who were rejected from the judges' choice (so it's between Youth Creation and Jack and Cormac so far).

Technically I suppose they could pick anyone who didn't make it, but they would find it hard to justify choosing someone who didn't at least finish in the top 3 of their semi - could damage the show (and the act wouldn't pick up many supporters). But as others have said the producers can do what they want if they think it will generate viewing figures/advertising revenue/tour ticket sales.

You reckon? The producers can do what ever they want ,it's their show, my money's on Alice in the final

I suppose the judges could pick Alice but considering she came 4th maximum in her semi she obviously isn't that popular so what would be the point.

Could be wrong I suppose but Digital Spy stated it would be between the third place acts.

I reckon no. Just because you think/want Alice in the final, doesn't mean she's going there.

The wildcard will go to Alice 100% certain.

I think it may go to Youth Creation.

Alesha on BGMT viewers question section last night said she would choose Alice as the wild card. David said the same on Daybreak this morning, so I think top 3 qualification rule may be ignored I agree with Rotsea - what is the point?

There isn't a BGT tour anymore.

I think Alice may have only come 5th. Isn't the one who doesn't get through at the end, McGnasty (sp) in this case, the 4th highest?

At home we all thought Alice would win the whole competition, not just this semi and I have no idea how more people could have voted for McGnasty and the 2 boys. I can understand people voting for Gabz and Jack though. There are still 3 semis to go, so I think it is a bit soon to think that Alice will get it anyway.

Your logic applies to all rest of the contestants who have missed out on a place on the final

The judges will put through who they like regardless of what the public think. Its always been the same on BGT and X Factor.

Having looked at last year, the judges narrowed the wild card to 3 acts, one of which, Four Corners, only came 4th behind Paige Turley who was not considered. Because of the nature of the voting, it is very unlikely that a wild card entry will finish very high.

Just becase it's always been a top 3 person before, doesn't mean it always will be. I know the Digital Spy article said it was, but Simon can change the rules anytime he wants... having said that, I don;t think it'll be Alice. I think it would have almost definitely been her if she had finished top 3 last night, but now that they know she doesn't have the public support I don't think they'll waste it on her...

I wouldn't be surprised if Simon / other producers select the person who got the highest votes during the week out of the ones who don't qualify for the final, just so that they can maximise the votes for the final.

I'm sure SC can change the rules when he wants. However, what would be the point in putting Alice through who wasn't even in the top 3?

For all we know, she may have came last in the public vote, it isn't done in numerical order. SC will of course know the positions they finished in with the public vote, and if there wasn't any 'interest' the first time around ( from the Public ) why would he put her through it all again?

I still think it will be between the 3rd placed finishers.
