The judges ability to lie to the contestants faces is usually the best talent of the night.

That's what I was thinking - they've gone too soft. A few years ago, they would have all buzzed off Meat Diva and perhaps the girl who sang Justin Bieber. These days we're lucky to get one buzz a show. I'm not sure if it's an unpopular opinion or not as I haven't watched the show in a while, bar today and yesterday, but the panel with David-Alesha-Amanda just doesn't work. And I'm not saying that I want Piers back (America can keep him!), but a few more buzzes would be welcome to liven things up in my opinion.

The judges do seem to fawn over some really poor performances, maybe they think that is the way to be popular with the public. For me it makes their opinion worthless. I notice all the performers REALLY want to hear what Simon says because they know he tells them the truth. (However I have noticed even Simon being swayed by popular opinion/his hormones on a couple of occassions).
