Yeah Helen asked nicely, but I still think Shugs told her it would've been her in trouble if she had done it. I remb it because I thought it made no sense at the time.

I think he'd be very annoying in real life.

I don't remember as it's been ages since I saw that episode... I don't understand why she would have been in trouble for it. I understand the 'lack of respect' argument, but she didn't show lack of respect in the way that Miranda did for Adele in Series 1, for example. Helen wasn't an irritant in the team, she just wanted to do the best she could. Plus, she had won every task up to that point; she was probably hoping to win every task and didn't want Melody to spoil that for her. I don't see what Sugar's issue with it was. I can see what his issue would have been with Melody had she agreed to that, but not with Helen.
But I did get the impression it may have been a double firing if it had gone ahead. Thing is with next week, if Luisa ends up turning it around and winning, would it be the first time LAS has sacked a winning team candidate? My memory says he wanted to sack one years back but said "rules are rules". |

I'm not sure if he's allowed to, but I can't see why he wouldn't be. For him, it would be a way to get rid of some of the dead wood, and for the producers it would be something a bit different to prove that the format isn't too formulaic. There was one time that he fired someone who wasn't brought into the final boardroom - in the Marrakech episode in Series 4, he fired Jenny before the final boardroom, just because he thought she was dishonest and wanted her out. |

He has sacked one person from a winning team - Haya - but that was a bit different as it was a semi-final and they were told at the start that someone on the winning team would be fired.

I find his behaviour contrived/exaggerated, it may well be for the show he is asked to be silly. He has described himself as a devotee of Question Time so maybe he is playing at being "Boris".
The Teddy thing though was just creepy. Its difficult to judge how good his idea is until he is in the BR and survives for no good reason. |

Even Lord Sugar said "With regret you're fired from this process".
I'll miss Jason

He seems very quirky, very funny and immensely likeable. He auditioned for the wrong show I think. He'd have walked this years big brother.

I love Marian Keyes' description of him on YF - " You're like a scented candle - not overly useful, but you make everything seem lovely!"

Wasn't a great fan of Jason until tonight, I felt sorry for him when Luisa kept berating him and forced him to step down as PM, he seems like a lovely guy with a good sense of humour. However I think the right person was fired.

I don't feel like it was a travesty or anything, firing him, because he was never likely to win. But I will miss him. He's made this series in my opinion. Can't watch 'You're Fired' in Wales yet, it's on late for 'Cardiff Singer of the World', but I'm glad he came across well.
And while I get why he was fired, I wish he hadn't been - it's not as if any of the others were impressive either and he was great TV. |
