Bruce Forysth says " Kids shouldn't be put through the ordeal on Britian's Got Talent" Strictly is different to BGT. It's for everyone and Kids have talent.

A lot of fuss over nothing. There have always been kids in talent show ever since the days of Lena Zavaroni and Bonney Langford back in the seventies.

There shouldn't be Singers on BGT. That should be left to X Factor.

I think Brucie should remember his own roots.

"Forsyth made his television debut in 1939 as a child, singing and dancing on a talent show introduced by Jasmine Bligh, probably an episode of Come and Be Televised (BBC, 1939), broadcast from Radiolympia"

Brucie”

But Bruce has acknowledged this. That is why he is saying it. He is speaking from his experience.

So surprised, yet pleased to see nearly all the comments on The Sun agreeing with Bruce.

I am in two minds.

Bruce would probably not be where he is today had he not have taken the path he took as a child.

We have many child artists who disappear without a trace and many who make it.

I myself did ballet, tap and played the violin from a very young age. I entered talent competitions way back in the 1960's as a child. I never got anywhere, but I did go on as a young person in the 70's to perform with both the school and a youth orchestra and traveled the country in school competitions in both music and dance.

Yes, with technology the arena is bigger now than back then, but I still think that for those kids with a talent they should be allowed to explore the possibilities, take part and see if they can make it. Maybe some more research into the individual child to ensure it is the child and not the parents with the dream, and also a bit more responsibility from the production side of things given that times have changed and there is a much bigger media watching than back in Brucie's day.

So yeah.... I think kids should be allowed to take part, but with care and responsibility from ALL "grown-ups" concerned and that includes Simon who shouldn't be using the kids as pawns in his own game.

Lena Zavaroni is a prime example of what can Happen when the pressure gets too much at a young age

Simon has been coming across as a nasty, embittered old Drama Queen over the past few days. Seriously, why the hell does it bother him so much what Bruce Forsyth thinks of his shows? Its not as if he was especially nasty about BGT either, he just said that he didnt think children should be allowed to take part, which as others have already stated comes from his own personal experience of being a child performer.

Simon inability to take criticism shows him to be a pathetic egomaniac. I noticed last night the organ grinder even managed to get his monkeys to do the spouting as well. Maybe Amanda and David would like to remove their heads from Simon's backside for a few moments?

There something incredibly nasty about all of Syco's shows. Louis Walsh saying that Bruce "should be dead" and then Amanda Holden saying something similar about Tom Jones. By all means defend yourself but Simon and his cronies always seem to go for very low blows. Its not endearing them to me at all.

Bruce was defending this on Sky News Sunrise. He reckons could have Britain's Children Got Talent.

Yes now that he explained his comment i think its a good idea.
Amandas name of it was brilliant, Little Britains got talent.
Think that actually could work.

I think these kids prove that they could handle a big competition but it would prob be more fun for them to have their own show.

I thought that Bruce Forsythe made a fair comment. It is an opinion after all.

But what I found really childish was the show last night trying to use the show itself to prove that Simon is right. As though somehow child acts doing well and being entertaining somehow invalidates Bruce's point.
But no it doesn't, to think that it would is completely illogical, because the point being made had nothing whatsoever to do with whether children can be entertaining enough.

That to me is just petty, and all it serves to do is to demonstrate that Simon doesn't even consider somebody else's opinion and only cares about trying to prove that he is right, and they are wrong. He doesn't even seem to give the opinion a second thought and thinks that as long as he can convince other people to agree with his own opinion then that will somehow make it right in his own mind.

Simon and Bruce already have an agreement between them that what they say tends to be banter. Bruce himself has stated that he has no issue with what Simon says about him, and says things back. They never cross the line with each other.

Admittedly, Louis and Amanda are a completely different kettle of fish.
