Now our Blockbuster (Hemel Hempstead) has closed down I have lost my last place to rent a film. I used to enjoy renting a new release (especially since our cinema is so grubby). Just browsing the racks was enjoyable..pick up some popcorn too maybe...

Does any shop in your area have DVD rental? I would like to think that it is still going somewhere.

I'm not sure what I will do now as I don't want DVD's in the post and I don't have a movie download facility. Wait until they come on BBC/ITV TV I suppose.

We have a local shop that has a few for rent but nothing current.......Renting physical discs has been well and truly replaced by streaming from companies like Netflix etc.
LoveFilm still do postal rentals of the discs....Check them out..

Thanks - I may well end up using LoveFilm as it seems the only choice. I do miss browsing the racks as I discovered new films that way and the Blockbuster staff used to be enthusiastic about films too and were good to chat to.

There are still Blockbuster shops - you just have to travel further! Inst6ead of half-a-mile I now have to go 5 miles

I think the nearest to you would be Watford or Rickmansworth!
