The Big Brother 14 launch is going to be split over two nights. Thursday 13 and friday 14 June.

Is this the first time ever the launch is being split? If it is, does anyone know why this could be happening. Has there been something like this on an international version of BB recently?

Lots and lots of live feed, I dont think anyone can complain about lack of live feed this year.

I wonder if this is finally the two houses that always gets speculated about.

5 hours of Big Brother on Friday night!!! D This is actually very clever because it will help retain the audience and perhaps lead to more people sticking with the show!

It'll be interesting to see which LF rates better, the C5 live feed, straight after the launch and BOTS but late on a work night and likely to be mostly bird song and housemates talking over each other in excitement, or the 7-9pm live feed, early in the evening but on 5* and against the similar audience soaps.

Would imagine it will be the launch night feed but how big the difference is will certainly be interesting. I suspect the last half hour could possibly rate higher as the housemates probably won't know it has been split in two and I would imagine people would want to watch a bit before the live show.

They're both launch night feed, but one's before the second show, one's straight after it.

Rather they just chucked them all in and got on with it, launch is pretty boring usually a part from seeing who goes in and this just drags it out and the first week will be mostly launch recaps.

much prefer the launch not being live like the early years
its going to seem dragged out

This, for me, adds even more credence to the theory that we'll be having a BBAUS 2012 style launch twist.

If I remember correctly, 10 of the 14 housemates entered on Launch night (7 girls, 3 guys, with the 7 girls tucked away in a secret room watching the three guys interact), with the final 4 male housemates entering on the live show the day after.

It's either that or a God Awful "evicted after one day" twist.

I would prefer: split entry for housemates with a REASON for the split, for example if they were to send in an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend; housemates split by gender or two houses (I think it is about time we had a substantial split between two groups, it will affect the 'social game' though I know most would prefer no interference in that respect).

I think: Thursday will be sending in the housemates with their usual profiles and possibly even a secret task twist, you know how they like them! Friday will be explaining the secrets twist? If Friday is reserved for just secrets / one night eviction, 1hr 30mins still feels like a LONG time to fill!

Interesting! They are really trying to shake things up! Even if it doesn't work especially well at least their effort is clear.

Sorry! I meant Thursday launch night live feed would do better than Friday post-launch night 2 would do better. I'm guessing you were talking about Friday evening and nights feeds as opposed to Thursdays live feed. In which case I would still say night as I doubt the daytime feed will be well advertised but the difference in figures should be very interesting and key to live coverage for the rest of the series.

Is it online? Should be online.

Also the 8th series was obviously split as they didn't put all the HMs in at once. I prefer them all in together so they get a chance to know each other, particularly if there is a silly early eviction twist.

Im literally thinking housemates go in on Thursday then their ex's or people they hate come in on the 2nd night.

If its an eviction after 1 day in the house I will be very pissed off.

That is not daytime feed, Daytime would be earlier then that. It is evening feed
