She just wasn't good enough.

I'd say it was more controversy that did her in than hype. I thought she was pretty good actually, but the whole drama about her totally different audition on the Voice, coupled with a nervy performance on the night really did her in.

I imagine that like myself, most people, don't have access to much of the "hype" or negativity, so we just watched her on the show.

I personally thought she was wonderful. Gorgeous to look at with a voice like silk. Sure, buckets of nerves, but that can be worked on.

This I don't understand as I've watched both auditions now and I can't see how she's some kind of split personality...

Can you explain?

Me neither. She seemed more confident on The Voice, but that may have been because ot the way she was treated by the prducers on the show. We don't see what goes on behind the scenes do we.

Very true! I think the comments on here are the subject of some kind of hype (ironic).

On The Voice, we got 'Little Miss Confident' - dressed up, full-make-up, bags of confidence, sexed-up performance. On BGT we got 'Little Miss Shy' - dressed down, make-up free, shy giggles, nervous mannerisms, confident performance. Then, just to confuse us further, on the BGT semi-final, we got 'Little Miss Shy' dressed up like 'Little Miss Confident', but with a performance which lacked any hint of confidence!

I wish people would ignore rubbish media talk and judge a contestant purely on their performance

It also could be that she just felt more confident that day. Being rejected by all four judges must be pretty deflating and it takes a lot of courage to pick yourself up and do it all again on another big show.

It's a shame that some people want to see conspiracy theories and manipulation in everything to do with TV. No one would want to come across as crestfallen and defeated as she did last night. You could tell by her body language that she felt awful.

Her performance last night was a mess... So basing it just on that she didn't deserve to be anywhere near the top 3.

I have no problems with her credibility but don't rate her at all. And she did mess up her song last night. In my opinion, much better acts have been rejected.

She is a very decent singer compared to a lot of rubbish that is currently on display in the singles chart.

Exactly! Regardless of what had gone on before, her performance just wasn't good.

Isn't is possible that you're reading way too much into that?

I've re-watched them and it's entirely possible she's taken on board what was said, learned from each experience and changed small things about her performance based on each new performance.

AND. It's possible she doesn't know how to act and is getting loads of conflicting information so each performance is divided in some way.

There are lots of reasons why she has changed but I can't see ANY reason to criticize her for that.

I didnt like Alice's audition on The Voice. I thought her first audition on BGT was brilliant but I thought her very weak last night. I can understand her being nervous given what happened to her on The Voice. However, I am glad that she didnt get through because I dont think she is ready for handling the fame. Also, I am not entertained watching someone breaking down on tv all the time, I think it cringeworthy to watch.

Some of the acts in the show are new to performing in front of the public. It takes time to get used to doing so. Its not a thing that happens overnight. I would'nt expect to see a perfect performance from anyone such as Alice. I would like to see a lot of people who are critical on here try to do any better.

Well I for one personally thought she was miles better than the Irish boys and they were third

They got through because they are kids which is all the majority of the voting public are interested in. They might just as well call it BGT For Kids, and have done with it.

I've just watched the two auditions one after the other and to me it's natural progression; she had far more confidence in herself going into The Voice audition which was promptly shot to pieces when she was rejected - she did allude to the confidence issue on The Voice by saying it improved as she got older but it could have easily been knocked by failing to get the judge to turn.

Last night I think the production was completely wrong for her; she looked uncomfortable with the style and not completely happy with the song. I think she knew she had struggled with it and her nerves completely took hold.

Nothing sinister - just human nature.

Her voice not that great and her performance on the live show was awful and boring imo.

The main reason it was awful was it was a 100% aping of Amy Winehouse. Only Amy could get away with that because that's who she was. Alice doesn't know who she is, and so neither do we, the audience.

I felt sorry for her but have to admit that I didn't notice the mistake. She has a lovely voice and I wish her well but she needs to conquer those nerves.

Well I am sure David Walliams and Amanda Holden do know what they are talking about as they are great recording artists, unlike the rubbish Sir Tom Jones, Will,i.am, Jessie J and Danny O Donoqhue.

Ok, voice on semi, flat, and hard to hear any real emotion, and if she could not be bothered to really sing.

And her first audition was superb, and if anyone thinks otherwise then they dont appreciate good music.
