If Alice is the wildcard and not a 3rd place act, what Is the point of voting?

If we are paying out money to vote, then at least the wild card should go to a 3rd place act, if Alice get's the vote, then what is the point as any act can be put in, with no regards to the public.

It will go to whoever the judges think have the best chances of becoming a star performer, and that is Alice.

Because people vote knowing that their votes will send through two of the top three acts on that night, the wildcard is totally independent of any vote.

Whilst I do agree with what you're saying, I'd much prefer to see Alice again at this stage than the awful Youth Creation or equally as bad Jack and Cormac.

I'm not convinced Simon would give her a wild card now, the public have spoken and they are clearly not buying.

On the basis of her performance on Tuesday night, I honestly don't think it would be fair on her to give her the wildcard.

Too early to speculate with 3 semis still to be aired

Even if she isn't given the wildcard, and I hope she won't be, then I'm sure that Simon is already working out how to get her onto the Syco roster with a few songs already for production at a moments notice.

The wildcard act should just be from those acts who made the top 3 each night and didn't get picked to the final but as we all know the producers like to have their own favourite act they will showcase more than anyone else in the hope that the public pick up on it. They want Alice but the public see through it once again

This. Alice doesn't deserve the wildcard and if the rules are 3rd place, then they shouldn't change the rules so an act that Simon likes gets through.

Well what's the point of voting for a 3rd place act. For all you know Alice could've had more votes than one of more of the 3rd place acts ,so it's no difference really

If we worked on that principle, then a 2 or 3 place could have more than another nights winner. So do we dump the winner if the vote is low.

I thought it was said that only the 3rd place acts could be wildcards this year?

Are there rules for the wildcard ? Are they published anywhere or do we know who can go forward as a wild card ?

It has been the case I believe that Simon Cowell has changed the rules in the past.

Of course not , but it doesn't mean that those outside of the top 3 are any less popular than those who finish 3rd on any given night. Therefore in my opinion it is actually fairer to choose the wildcard from all the semi finalists

Same here. It may well go to someone else.

If Alice couldn't get to the top 3 in her semi-final, quite likely she won't get near the top half of the final.
