Hello to any youview customers out there, please could you tell me what your experience of the adverts are before/during on demand content from the likes of ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Thank You.

It's the same as it is on a PC. You can't skip the commercials. If it is any consolation, there don't seem to be as many as on a broadcast.

To be fair, ITV, Channel 4 and Five rely on advertising for their income. Without the receipts it brings, they wouldn't be able to make programmes. At least they don't charge us for watching them.

What you can do is skip playback until after ther last ad-break then leave it to play out all the ads while you watch or do something else for 15 minutes (for a one hour programme). Then go back and watch the whole programme uninterrupted.

I've just posted a similar question on another topic, but I feel sure that BT Vision doesn't inflict ads on the Channel 4 programmes.

As somebody pointed out, BT must have actually bought the rights to many of these, as you don't have to access them via the 4OD player
