Probably a week or a few days before.

They should aim to advertise when BGT is on, especially the final if they want to rake in the viewers. Other than that I think they should advertise when the soaps are on, in particular Corrie and Hollyoaks.

Hopefully a week or so beforehand. The final of BGT would be a great time or in between editions of coronation street and emmerdale.

In January they saved the cross-channel stuff till during, but then it started on the 3rd of January so most the days leading up to it everyone was watching christmas and new years fluff on ad-less BBC One. They'd be mad not to pay for a spot during the BGT final this series, with the competition as crap as it is for the first launch this could be the opportunity to give the normal series the ratings kick up the arse it's needed these past two years.

The BGT final is definately the best slot for any advertiser forays looks lite it will be for many months. But how expensive will that be, especially if they want to show the full 1 min advert. I'd expect with massive "live event" shows like BGT ITV would be booking the adverts a long time in advance and theres definately gonna be some big competition. That's why you should expect to see the likes of Pepsi, McDonalds etc.

By the way how much does channel 5 have to pay itv to show the advert on their channel

£50 cpm (cost per mille, cost per 1000 views) for a 30 second slot as of 2009, not sure what it is now.

I'm sure I read somewhere an ad slot during last years X Factor final cost £250,000 for one minute and I would imagine BGT to be even more expensive!

EDIT- No it was 2010 and cost £250,000 for 30 seconds.

Even people who don't watch BGT will watch the BGT final, That is a great advert spot for Big Brother and they be mad not to bid for a slot. As for money well it translates into better ratings for the launch. Channel 5 should go for it as people will be curious what the secret and lies thing is about

Well I suppose I agree, although £500,000 would be a lot of money (if the figure is around this) it should be done if they aren't going to advertise on billboards and so on. Plus a minute long ad is certainly a bit unnoticeable and will lead to people speaking about it on social networks giving an even larger audience. The two part launch show could really breathe new life into the show and I think it's quite possible this series could average 2 million if they play their cards right. BUT people need to know Brian is gone (sorry to the guy but Davina used to trend on twitter during evictions...says it all)

I imagine they will advertise a good bit because of what has happened so far with the series.

Just the Channel 5 channels isn't good enough, Most of the audience doesn't watch Channel 5, The program needs to advise on top rating shows like Corrie and BGT to get it known that its on soon
