Hi there I'm new to this site so here goes!
I'm trying to connect some external speakers from my lovely logik 24fed12 through a technics amp receiver sa-ex510. I've tried all of the connections but still don't get any sound from the speakers( yes the speakers are working,)
Any ideas out there.
Cheers

The most common problem is confusing inputs with outputs. Anything marked "in" is for accepting a signal from something else. Anything marked "out" is for sending a signal to something else. If you are connecting a cable from the TV's audio input and expecting sound to get to the amp then you're barking up the wrong tree.

Very few TVs have a dedicated audio output on stereo phonos (red & white). Those TVs with a fully wired SCART socket can be connected to a stereo system with the correct cable. If no SCART then you're going to have to rely on the headphone socket.

Don't assume that the Headphone socket volume will change with the TV volume. Sometimes there is an independent volume control from a TV sub-menu. You may even have to enable the headphone socket first, and also disable the TV speakers via menu choices. Check your TV manual.

Once you have a signal from the TV then connect the cable to an input on the amp. The Technics doesn't have an optical input, so it's the red & white phonos you need to use. "TV/DVD in" or "CD in" will do.

Can't give any more help as you haven't said much about how you are trying to connect. This is all just supposition based on the most likely issues. Come back with more detail for further help.

What are you trying to get sound out of? And by what means?

Quite a few TVs these days have no analogue audio outputs on phono sockets (and phono sockets they do have will be inputs so no use to you). And some TVs don't even have a headphone jack that could be used instead.

If you are lucky the TV may have a SCART socket wired for output that could be used with an adapter plug or lead.

There may well be a digital audio output on the TV but from what i can find with a spot of googling your amp is pure analogue? In that case you might be able to get by with a digital to analogue converter unit.

But knowing the TV will help provide a better answer.

Ah just twigged the Logik is the TV. Which is a bit of a bummer as it's one of those Curry's own make clone jobs or something like that which means there might not be that much useful info available on the web.

2 x HDMI
1 x Scart
1 x SVGA
1 x Composite Video Input
1 x Component Video Input

OK found a manual online for the Logik L24FED which is a result! Often with these own brand units you are lucky to find much real information about them.

Anyway as far as I can see the only option is the headphone socket. And as far as I can see the volume is controlled by the main speaker volume controls. So a 3.5mm stereo jack to twin phono plug lead should do the job. Plug it in and then set the volume to about 3/4 to begin with and adjust as necessary to get a decent volume from the speakers.

The manual was a bit light on information about how the SCART is wired. I couldn't see anything about it being wired for output as well as input.

It would be rare for it not to be an output as well, almost all SCART sockets on TV's have at least one that's an output.

Certainly worth trying.
