My view on the 'Should kids be allowed on BGT?'
I think everyone above 14 is fine. As they aren't/shouldn't get the cute little kids treatment.
Then their should be a separate show for the under 14. However there would have to be exceptions for individual cases. If a group (be it singer/dance or variety) where a some members are under 14 then they should be allowed on the main show. I'm talking about groups should as Spellbound or say there was a school choir raging in the ages of 12-17. Then I would allow that too. I think this would be the most logical solution and Simon ITV you can make two shows out of one it's a win win. Your thoughts? |

Too complicated. I think it's fine as it is.

Then we wouldn't have had great talent like Shaheen and Ronan.

Isn't that like saying that if they don't appear on BGT then they'd suddenly lose their talent overnight? Isn't it also like saying that we don't see talented people full stop? Children have talent, they grow up, and we that talent all around us. |

I understand wanting to chase dreams and whatever but they have their whole lives to do it. No point rushing into it at such a young age. Just my thoughts. |

I don't mind kids per-se although I'd set the limit at around 10 years old.
What I have a problem with is the sheer volume of them and that about 80% are good for their age - but not that good. Either of the kids dance groups were a million miles from Diversity or Flawless. That may sound harsh, but any dance group over say, 15 years old are measured by that but children are not. |

I don't have a problem with kids on the show. What I DO have a problem with is kids progressing to further stages simply because they're kids, taking the place of acts who are clearly better.

I think we need kids on BGT, they are a big part of the programme, but they shouldn't become the whole show just because they are cute or whatever. As for the idea that appearing on the show is damaging to their wellbeing, that is far too much of a sweeping statement, because some kids love the whole experience, and some can't really cope with it. Same as the adults really! |
