David giving positive comments to everyone..
He hasn't given a bad comment all series, and hasn't buzzed. What's the point if he's going to be dishonest?

I really don't think he is dishonest.
![]() I actually liked some of David's comments tonight. He put Simon in his place (not in his usual funny way tonight, but in an blunt honest way at times) more than once tonight. Maybe he just doesn't like buzzing? It is a bit of a blunt way of showing you dislike something, esp during a live performance.. Michael McIntyre was the same. |

You're right he does but I think it shows him to be a nice person, which I think he is, genuinely.

He's soft as shit for a judge.
A completely pointless presence as a judge. He doesn't have to buzz anyone. Just simply not telling acts that they're going to have a great future career would be a step in the right direction. |

thats what i like about him, he can give funny positive comments. simon is known for being the bad guy.
alesha and amanda have no personality, so they have to be bitchy so it seems like they have one |

What's the problem with being a nice person?
I think it's refreshing that he doesn't slag off every little thing, although it's equally as frustrating when they were awful. |

I think he gives balance to the others' (sometimes harsh) criticisms. It takes a lot of courage to get up on stage and perform in front of millions of people live for the first time, so we need at least one judge we can rely on to give a sympathetic critique. You can tell he's more enthusiastic in his praise of people he likes better than others. That's enough for me. I'd miss him if he wasn't there.

I think it's fine that he hasn't buzzed in the semi's and I personally believe that buzzers should only be used at audition stage as the semi-final acts are only there because the judges apparently liked them somehow originally, plus David might feel that buzzing could be disruptive to the performance.
I just think generally David is more of an optimistic person, seeing the good side of everything and wanting to bring a positive perspective as well as making funny comments at time. For balance on the panel, I don't mind. |

He seems a genuinely honest, likable person both on and off BGT, but I have really started to notice over the past couple of days that he never, ever says anything bad about anyone, regardless of merit or talent. He's very Louis Walsh-esque in that every act he sees is best of the night and his new favourite.
He does need to be a little bit more harsh at times. Still though, like I said he does seem a very nice person both on and off the show so he's already 1 up on all the other judges. |

How has a straight man managed to make a career out of nothing but predictable and tedious gay insinuations?
He has one "joke" and is the last person who should be judging talent. |
