When BGT started out it was much more about variety, worthy of the royal show, now it just a (mostly) younger version of x factor. Just a joke, the variety acts are mostly rejected every time.

Other than Connie, all five of those were brilliant, a kid included.

Bar Wizzards came last and have been better than a few winners since.

I agree. I think when it started out, Simon and co. wanted to demonstrate that they were the type of show to allow acts of any sort to shine, and therefore played up the variety card, and being something that would suit royal variety.

Now it looks like acts of true variety aren't getting much leeway and that could either be down to the judges being quick to criticise the non-singers/dancers, or the public not giving people like James (the magician/escapologist) a chance.

And even a few series on we still had the like of Stavros and his son.
I can't believe in all the thousands of act's turning up, there was not more great funny or variety act's. But not being shown on TV and rejected by the judges.

Yeah the judges are putting through variety acts and many said last night they wanted James in the final but the public didn't vote him into the top 3. If the public find the singers and dancers more entertaining then that's what's going to be in the final. The judges haven't sent any variety acts home out of the 3 the public have voted for - only singers and dancers.

We need a really special variety act that captures the audiences attention and votes - we did have a variety winner last year, and I think Attraction or Jack Caroll could do it this year. I think the wildcard might be a variety act. At the moment I'd like James More to get it.

But what about the thousands we didn't see on TV! There must have been some great acts that did not even make the Show.

I'd imagine if they were really good we would have seen them. I wasn't at any of the auditions but has there been any fantastic variety acts discussed that people saw at the auditions and they haven't made it through?

Some of the variety acts through have been very poor and I think only put through so there is variety rather than it all being singers and dancers, but I'd rather watch good singers and dancers than poor variety acts like Stevie Pink and Thomas Bounce.

Just go to London, Covent Garden and see some amazing acts, saw a while ago, a act of balancing at the top of a singe ladder, while juggling a working chain saw.

I am sure there are lots more like that, some who may have tried out for BGT

Apart from Diversity my personnel favourites are still signature, thought they was great and i believe they was in the 2nd series, and the next act was twist & pulse the orinal act not last years rebirth,has not really been a act that has really blown me away last few years
