Did you ever email Phil Swern with your comments about the show?

Never get a reply. Must email him about his ilike website being rubbish. Mono sounding songs playing in the wrong order is no substitute either.

1998 looks like a Heart Time Tunnel, but that 2006 chart is just awful. Song after song that has already been forgotten. Apart from the Madonna song, I couldn't name any of them.

The JCB Song? Just no. Sorry.

I am sure that wasn't the reason. Phil Swern runs a business that supplies radio stations with digital downloads of every UK and USA hit. This is only available to radio stations who pay a subscription. Tony or Phil could have downloaded it and played it in seconds.

There are some great songs it that 2006 chart, one of my favourite years to be fair. Loads of artists there that Radio 2 could play, some songs may have been 'forgotten', for me that's even more reason to play them as you don't hear them often and that's what Tony always says POTP is about?

Some posters simply don't like any 00s music whatsoever. Just baffles me as I like music from all decades.

I would sooner hear a 1946 chart than anything from the 00s. 1946 was TEN years before I was born.

Wow! Awful! So was 26 January 2002 particularly bad, or was music in the early noughties generally dire?

There are some decent songs on there, I think age comes into it more than anything else. The low end of Radio 2s audience would enjoy the 00s charts and it will happen one day guys.

The people who have dismissed the 00's more like haven't heard of half the songs so just dismiss them as awful. I don't think age is all relevant. I'm in my early 40's and would probably say that the 60's charts were probably the strongest despite being before I was born but I don't want to hear the same narrow years week after week. The 2002 chart does feature some reasonably decent tracks with The Mercury Rev track being outstanding.

I really like that song! It's actually quite creepy when you think what he's actually doing

I loved the Olivia Newton John song as well that seems quite forgotten. I just wish Racey and that Funkadellic's One Nation Under A Groove had been played too.
