Paul is more suited IMO to a more serious evening programme.”
North Downs, i can certainly understand where you are coming from. Paul lacks the relaxed humorous feelgood factor of Tony, and dare i say, aside from Paul placing a special emphasis on the positions of the chart placings, it was also Tony who imparted the most knowledge and trivia, which i found so interesting during the time he was presenting the show. You would certainly expect Paul to be well ahead of him in that regard, in it being his specialty, but he's not, as yet. Paul may just require a more formal environment in which to feel comfortable in being able to fully tap into that side of himself. At the moment he's not making the occasional blunders, Mark Goodier may have made, but that aside, i don't see that he's adding any more to the show, either. Mark got a lot of stick, but as yet, Paul isn't really bringing anything extra, either. Maybe it is wrong to compare everyone to Tony, because they are different personalities, and i did end up liking Mark, and despite what i have said, Paul isn't doing a bad job so far.
