Bucks Fizz are coming up soon on here, but much later, in 1997, I bought their greatest hits CD for about £6 and felt a bit sheepish doing so as a twentysomething male, and am sure I got a look of disdain when I handed it over the counter at Our Price.

But they are damned good. I feel no shame.

How did I miss that? Not aware of 'Voyeur'. I'll have to check it out. Love Elton. Got into him around 1987 and had a spending spree at my local record shop and bought most of his 1970's albums. 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' is probably my fave.

It's from his current album The Diving Board. He sang it on the Graham Norton show too, but clearly even doing songs on a popular TV show on BBC1 can't shift the copies nowadays, which is troubling. I wish that would apply to ITV and their trashy karaoke show.

Of course..'Diving Board'. That did really well for Elton.
It was nice to see him have 2 songs 'Part Time Love' and 'Song For Guy' in the chart at the same time in the re-runs.

I think I mentioned it over on the TOTP 1978 thread a few weeks ago that there was a highly unusual situation on one of the weeks charts, w/e 16th December 1978, where Elton had got 2 brand new records out, and both of those songs climbed the very same chart in the same week. Very rare, especially then, maybe even unique, unless someone knows better?

Such a contrast between the two singles. Part Time Love was a real fun performance and Elton looked quite good, whereas Song For Guy is extremely melancholy and the look wasn't too good.
