Why are BBC stars now targetting Britain's Got Talent?
First Sir Bruce and now Jessie J:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/v...-slams-1925199 Now, while I can understand Sir Bruce's point of view I'm not sure about the above...I don't think the child acts are ever ridiculed. The adult acts maybe but not the child acts. Furthermore, this issue has existed with Britain's Got Talent since it's first series so why are these questions and comments only coming out now? What took them seven series to say something? To me, it seems they're either desperate for airtime and will do anything for exposure rather than actually care for the child acts or they want to take a pop at Britain's Got Talent to see if they can drag it off it's pedestal. Either way, in my opinion, it's pretty (ironically) childish. I'd have more respect for the point of view if they had spoken up straight away - leaving it so long just smells of opportunism to me. |

During the X Factor Versus Strictly season, stars of both bbc and itv start a slagging match.
It's no different during BGT Versus The Voice. |

I think that Bruce Forsythe made a fair point.
But the Jessie J criticism is ridiculous. Surely she couldn't have really claimed that children are ridiculed on BGT? That's the sort of thing somebody would say if they have never watched the show before and are just trying to jump on a bandwagon. Surely the problem if there is one is the opposite of what Jessie J is saying. In that they are treated disproportionately better than they are? I think that if Jessie j is uninformed about something then it's better that she doesn't make public statements like this. The problem is that any good points Bruce Forsythe may have made are undermined a bit by silly comments such as the ones in the Jessie J article. |

BGT is destroying the voice in the ratings.

Wait, you believe that article? It has no sources stated or anything. Jessie also has only had four interviews in the last month and not a single one touched on The specifics of BGT. They were all about her new music and The Voice. Surprised people still blindly believe gossip mags/blogs.

The OP seems to have completely forgotten that Cowell and had cronies has been spouting nasty comments about people on the BBC for years. Why is it Ok for Louis Walsh to say that Bruce Forsyth should be dead, or for Amanda Holden to say that Tom Jones should be dead?
Bruce has not said anything nasty or spiteful about Simon, though god knows he'd be within his rights after what Simon's brown nosers have said about him, he simply aired his opinion to which he is entitled. |

Britain's Got Talent is rating somewhat better than The Voice, to put it lightly. It's even more embarrassing because last year the BBC's press team would have had us all believe that Cowell was done and The Voice was the future. So it says a lot that a brand new format which has been a hit around the world is getting thumped by an eight year old format from a producer who has apparently lost his touch. Not a great reflection on the BBC and the TVUK team.
For that brief period last year where The Voice could boast being the #1 show on TV, they were constantly slagging off BGT and XF so maybe she thinks that by stepping it up again they might win back some viewers? She certainly hasn't put any thought into her criticisms. |

Unfortunately I can imagine Simon using the comments attributed to Jessie J in that article on tonight's show in an effort to undermine Bruce's points. It looks like it could be the case that either Jessie J is an idiot who doesn't know her arse from her elbow, or Simon's PR team have been a bit naughty spreading disinformation to the press. |

What she says is right in some part. The kids are under a lot of pressure and some of them are ridiculed when the dont make it through. That can have a psychological impact on the development of these young kids and lead to bullying at school, depression and all sorts. I think Jessie J and Brucey are right that kids need to have their own show separate from adults. Not just because of what ive said already but cos of the bias towards children when it comes down to the judges saving an act, they are too scared of saving an adult over a child, which compromises the quality of acts in the final.

I think Brucie does have a point. Yes performing arts kids do have to audition for parts but not usually in front of an massive audience and thousands of TV viewers, with the clip being recorded and put on You Tube for ever.

Why no mention of the two words parents and responsibility in this whole debate? Surely the buck stops with them and not Simon Cowell, as they are the ones who agree to their kids being on the show in the first place.

Guys, she didnt say this. The only thing close to this is what she said on twitter a few weeks back when they were laughing at some group or something who weren't kids. She said that she thinks it is wrong to put people through three or four auditions and make them feel as if they are great just to put them on TV for people to laugh at them. That's it. She also said that before she was on the voice, though, and told Simon that to his face.

We shall see. It will be interesting to see if Simon Cowell starts banging on about the kids thing in tonight's show, and if he brings this new article up as a paper tiger in order to easily dismiss it. |
