This isn't the first time that somebody on Cowell's shows have attempted to kill themselves (or indeed, actually killed themselves!). BGT (and the X Factor etc) are set up in such a way to build confidence and then smash it. As viewers, we are watching it thinking, "omg, how can they think they are good?!?!"...

The reality is that because they even go to the judges, they have 2 audition phases before that, both times in front of producers and they are told over and over again how fantastic they are and then their dreams are destroyed.

I'm actually surprised this isn't a more... common occurrence, if I'm honest. Especially since sometimes, these "bad" people are put through to the live shows on the premise that they are told over and over they are really good, only to be told they were terribly awful, live on TV...

To be fair, she seemed to have a few mental health issues. She auditioned in 2006 so that was 7 years ago. I don't think you can blame the programme for her obsessive personality or the fact that she was deluded about her ability to sing.

The only way to get round it would be to stop showing any bad or eccentric auditionees and that wouldn't guarantee that no one would feel bad about being rejected. It's a very, very tough business.

They take bad people, put them through 2 audition phases telling them they are great and amazing. Then they put them infront of the judges and they rip them apart infront of a live audience, which is then broadcast to millions of people. Or in the case of that Bounce kid a few nights ago, even put him through to the live semi-finals on the premise he was really good, only to then rip him apart on LIVE TV.

They are playing a dangerous a game with peoples lives.
