Google Now's "Time to leave for..." notifications playing up for anybody else?

Hi,

One of the best features (IMO) of Google Now is the card that lets you know what time you need to leave by to get to your next appointment's destination on time. Unfortunately, mine has been playing up recently and basically failing to bring up that card until I'm halfway to where I am going anyway.

For instance, today I had an appointment at 9pm, which meant leaving my house no later than 8:40pm. As you can see here, the notification finally came through 8:57pm, telling me I need to leave by 12 minutes previous to arrive on time. It has happened a couple of other times recently too, and each time it has been when I've been going to somewhere from home - it's almost as if my phone doesn't "know" it's at home, but location reporting is definitely enabled and location history shows I was at home whenever I was at home, so I'm a bit stumped.

Obviously I don't sit and wait for my phone to tell me I need to leave when I have an appointment, but it's disappointing that this feature is playing up as (a) it's such a neat feature, but also (b) it generally saves me having to do a traffic check before leaving because the calculated time has already taken that into account. So, is this happening to anybody else? I may clear out the cache and data at some point to see if that fixes things, but I'd rather not do this if I could avoid it.

Thanks.

Ive never used that feature but ive been trying out the google thing where you speak to it to say "set timer for 5 minutes" and although that text appears on screen. It often sets it for a different time or even the following day.....which is a bit unreliable.

I can't say I've used the timer via Google Now (you would expect, since the Clock app has a timer, it to just use that instead of an alarm), but I can imagine the frustration if it just gets it wrong.

The problems excelled themselves yesterday by telling me almost half an hour late what time I needed to leave. Irritatingly the traffic was unusually bad that morning and so one of the times it would actually have been really handy to have that notification, it didn't come. Yet in the same evening, it happily reminded me on-time of when I needed to leave to get to the evening appointment, so it's not even like it's consistent or reproducible for a bug report.

I'll give it a clear-out at some point but at this stage I don't even know if the problem is phone-end or server-end, and if the latter there really isn't much hope unless Google are actively fixing it. Anyone else having issues, or are the notifications coming through consistently for everyone else?

No shit. Having this feature doesn't preclude me from doing things the old-fashioned way and, you know, actually working out for myself what time I need to leave.

My point, obviously, is that it's clearly not correct functionality for a message saying "Leave at 20:45" to pop up at 20:57, and wondering if it was just me (in which case probably a phone issue) or whether others had encountered this too (in which case could be a phone issue or a server-side issue).
whoever,hey

I've not had a problem with this myself.

Yesterday I told it to remind me at 4.00 and it reminded me about 4.15, so probably a similar thing!
