“BIG BROTHER SUPERFAN EMMA WILLIS ON LANDING HER DREAM TV ROLE

GORGEOUS Emma Willis can’t wait to take over as the main presenter of Big Brother.

But the TV personality is also “really nervous” about filling the spike heels of original BB host Davina McCall, 45.

Good for her. Hoping she will do well.

I would really much rather she didn't bring over the "fun" from Bit on The Side, myself, but ho-hum.....

“No way!” laughed Emma. “That woman has balls of steel and abs of steel, and a really firm bum. I’m not that brave.””

Gutted.

Did Emma ever stand in for Brian on a live show? I have a vague recollection that she did but might be wrong

It's interesting that the article is implying that she is the successor to Davina. There is only the small part about Brian and that part is asking if its awkward. It's almost like they want to forget Brian was ever on it.

Must admit I do feel a wee bit sorry for Brian. Its like he never presented the show and everyone [admittingly even me] is happy he's gone lol. I genuinely hope he gets other work

Not that i'm aware of, but then I ditched both of his summer shows mid-way through.

Good for her

I like how there is very little mention of Brian the way they talk about her being the successor of Davina and not Brain

i think she'll be great, the main stick she gets is because she obviously done BOTS for a few years and ot many people like it, but the main show is completely different and i'm sure her presenting skills will really come into her own,

brian on the other hand , I like the bloke, he was a brilliant housemate, but he can't present for toffee, every one of his live shows felt rushed , too camp and dull and he never really offered anything to get us the audience engaged properly

Emma does seem (to me) more like a successor to Davina than to Brian. I don't mean that Brian's time was so insignificant that it can be ignored. But I think Emma's more like Davina and that her presenting will be more like Davina's, so that there's more continuity with the Davina period.

However ... Emma usually gave the evicted HM a better interview on BOTS than the initial interview with Brian. But the initial interviews have always had some problems, partly because the HM is still a bit shocked or befuddled, partly (for many years) because of the crowd, and I can remember often thinking that the BBLB interview was better way back when Dermot was presenting.

So, I suspect that the initial interviews still won't be as good as the ones Emma did on BOTS, and with new BOTS presenters, it's possible the BOTS interviews won't be that good either, so that overall, combining the quality of both interviews, we'll be worse off than before.

But maybe not. We'll have to wait and see.
