I can guarantee you will not get on with one as you seem unprepared to commit to moving on from the mindset of each device having its own remote with its own keys layout.
Geez, this is a remote control. I thought you were talking about marriage from the tone of your language.

I think those are similar words my mother said to me many moons ago when I took my then girlfriend home for the first time.

Did you find the right buttons to press with her or were you too used to your action men?

They didn't have action men in my day - it was 'muffin the mule' which is something you're likely to get arrested for now.

Just bought a humax hdr 1000s. Does anyone know what the best remote is to buy?

I want to be able to use one remote to turn my TV on /off as well as the box and to control volume from my soundbar.

Did have a Samsung SMT7800 which did all of this for me on the Samsung remote.

I've seen a harmony smart control with gestures. Will this be compatible?

Thanks

Almost certainly, Harmony remotes support pretty well anything with ir remote capability.

The earlier Humax remotes with 4 device control will also work the HDR1000S.

On your remote look at the top row middle button, if it says TV and not TV/AV it should be able to control your TV.

Thanks. I've just seen the ONE FOR ALL URC 7962 Smart Control Motion Universal Remote. Do you know if this works well?

Otherwise do you know where I can find one of the old remotes?

Not a clue about the ONE FOR ALL. Plenty of Humax remotes on e-bay.

You could try Humax direct to see if they have the latest HB1000/HDR1000/HDR1010S remote available which should control your TV.

Anything with a RM-Fxx number will work. Note that some of the dedicated buttons on the original remote aren't there. For these there are alternative ways of accessing.

I'm using a 7962 with the Humax and it works great. I programmed it myself using a PC, but I just looked on the ONE FOR ALL site and they list three codes for the Humax.

I've just tried code 2443 and it seems to control the box just fine.

I'd recommend turning off the motion feature if you get one, it's a gimmick
