Original Kindle - has this ever happened to anyone?
I bought my Kindle in 2010 and as I only really use it for books, I really don't need anything with more oomph.
However, a couple of months ago it froze on me and when it came back on the pictures are all 'ghostly' (not really a problem as they are only book covers) but more worryingly, the right lower back of the Kindle gets quite warm. Obviously I should get in touch with Amazon but I was wondering if this had happened to anyone else? |

Do a google search - there seem to be a number of other people who have seen this, with suggestions on how to fix.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, it seems I am lucky my original Kindle has worked for so long. The complaints I read online all relate to the Kindle Fire though. I cannot decide which Kindle I want to upgrade to. I really only use it to read books, I'm not particularly interested in an all singing, all dancing one and TBH, I do prefer to read a paperback, especially in bed and in the bath!!! Ah well, I think I will wait. |

There is also a help forum on their website, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/cust...ums/kindleqna/ Beware though it is staffed mainly by Amazon fanboys and girls who think that anyone who has defective kindle must have damaged it themselves in some way. Plus they seem to think a kindle should only last around a year anyway
