What phone have you now?
And what about the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 or the Nokia Lumia 920? |

HTC One comes in 32GB and 64GB editions, do you really use more than that?
Nokia Lumia 925 is being released sometime this month too which comes in 32GB edition |

Op, play with a few phones in the shops, get what suits you. Take a look at YouTube reviews too, some are iPhone 5 vs Xperia z etc.... They may help. Xperia z, galaxy s4, htc one, lumix 920.... All good phones, all have their good and bad points. |

Z over the iphone
but then i would get the HTC One over the Z. put off the gs4 as i like to have something most people don't have. but having moved to windows phone 8 this year i would get the lumia 920/925 over them all. |

And there's now also the S4 Active, if you like the water-resistant capabilities of the Xperia Z.

I had the Xperia Z, it's a good phone.. But for the things I wanted from a phone, I exchanged it for a HTC One;
1) sound quality on Z is awful, speaker and in ear. If you listen to music or watch videos a lot then HTC One is on another level good. 2) 1080p screen on Z isn't that good, colour reproduction isn't great and compared to the One and S4 the screen looks extremely washed put. 3) The Z has possibly the worst low light camera performance I've ever seen, pictures are horrible. My iPhone 4 was better. Z takes good daylight photos though. 4) I found call quality to be awful on the Z, if I was outside or anywhere with a bit of noise I could not hear the person I was talking too, I was told this was due to the water proofing. 5) Over heating! Personally I would recommend the HTC One to anyone. The Z is food, but there are a lot of compromises for the price. |

Just like to say the Xperia Z has shatter proof film on both sides so is much more durable than the iPhone. I don't about the post above, but from my friends who have the Z are very pleased with it. Some even came from iPhone 4/4S and prefer the Z.

I have a Z and its a great phone.
Sure, there are better screens, better cameras and better speakers out there but for my use, it's a good all rounder. I've got a hugely expensive SLR with a good range of lenses so if I want good photos I use that. For impromptu moments the camera in the phone is good enough. Speakers - my wife has a HTC One and the loudspeaker is excellent for a phone but we rarely use the feature, preferring to use a portable Bluetooth speaker instead. The screen doesn't have great black levels. In the dark you can see light shining through. But again, it's a phone so I'm not that fussed. The earpiece is small and it too some getting used to making sure it was right over my ear hole when I was on the phone. Used to it now and call quality is very clear. Signal, both mobile and wifi, seems better than on my Galaxy Nexus. I haven't dropped, yet, so can't confirm how resistant the screen is. It is glass though at the end of the day so I'd imaging it is still likely to break. It's waterproof and dustproof too. I can sort of confirm this - I got drenched a couple of weeks ago and my phone was completely soaked in my pocked for a couple of hours and is still working fine. I can get a full day on the battery with pretty heavy call, internet, email and text use and still have 20% battery left. Overall, I'm happy with it. I also like the fact that Sony don't seem to have bloated it like others have. It looks pretty damn similar to vanilla android. |

Thinking of ditching the Iphone 5 for this would it be a wise choice?

Docks are making way for bluetooth speakers.
They can be more versatile so consider those |
