Consider Rylan. He was a wannabe, and he's now going to be presenting BOTS. He did get there via X Factor, but he can still inspire other wannabes.
Re "They get told that won't happen." Do they? In terms that will get through to a wannabe who doesn't want to hear tht message.

My point is that what BB says may not be all that discouraging and that some who want to be HMs may be practically incapable, mentally, of taking what BB says on board.
