Cant believe that the BB13 launch was a year ago now

After a year to look back on things, for some even re watch etc what is your opinion on BB13 as a series now? I didn't think it was that good at the time due to the Insiders being so unlikeable but looking back it was a good series as there was a lot going on and was quite gripping even though most of the HMs were a nasty bunch, however the final 3 made up for that and Luke A was a good winner. It was also a big improvement BB11 and 12 for me.

Also who is favourite BB13 housemate now? Last year mine was Sara but looking back it's Luke A. He did seem just like a genuinely nice guy. Plus I appreciate Caroline far more now than I did at the time. Have your opinions on the series or any of the HMs changed?

Adding a poll about your opinion of BB13 a year on.

I can't believe it's been a year!

I really enjoyed it. Apart from that awful White Room twist.

It's one of my favourite series ever. I think it's just underrated because it's a C5 series and also most of the promising housemates were evicted in the first half of the series.

Was poor. No live feed *blah blah blah* you know the story.

I enjoyed it and also got tired near the end. Drained is a good word for it. Loved Benedict, Lauren. Liked Deana too.

Awful season with awful housemates

I loved it. My favourite housemates are still Deana, Luke A and Lydia.

I think my opinion of Becky has changed slightly, not as a person but as a housemate. In retrospect she did add a lot to the series with her stirring and bitchery - and if I'm honest with myself I enjoy loathing people really!

It was a bit too nasty for me to say that it was one of the best, but I did find it compelling viewing!

So awful I couldn't stick it to the end

There have been series where I could say it was boring, or off the boil, but 13 was the first time it was painful. I felt like a masochist most of the time.

There were some HMs that I liked slightly, but if they had been in any other series, they would've all been dead weight.

A good series with the right winner but some of the worst [including the very worst] HMs ever. Felt strangely drawn to see it through to the end though

Easily one of the worst.

Good series and housemates. But after week 7,it got tiresome and draining. Also I hated the handling of Conor and the white room task. I rated it 4/5

I'm surprised people are saying it is one of the worst...

In my opinion, it was a decent series, but C5 made some VERY poor choices. The housemates were decent, although some of them began to grate a lot towards the end. Very poor white room twist, with very poor decision making on behalf of BB. The drama was immense though.

The right winner, in my opinion, but most of it was painful and draining to watch. Some of the most unpleasant housemates I can ever remember who were allowed to gang up on and conspire against the decent people. Balanced slightly by the final three who were pretty good value as housemates but would probably have been even better (as the final week showed) in a house with a less sour atmosphere where their fun side would have flourished. Also wish Lydia, Benedict and, of course, Lauren. could have stayed much longer so we could get to know. them better

Yes, agree with all of this. I don't now why such an unpleasant, oppressive atmosphere was allowed to develop. I would have loved to have seen Luke and adam in a fun series instead, even if they hadn't been top two.

It seems to me that Noisy Oyster and those who agree should have voted for either "It was OK/poor. One of the weaker series" or "It was crap. One of the worst series of BB."

Did you?

I didn't, because it was one of perhaps 50% of series where I have actually cared about one or more housemates; and in the end that is the single most important factor for me. I accept that that wouldn't be the case for others, but it explains why I have always put BB6 at the bottom, even below BB4 and BB11 - no one I cared for even slightly, so nothing seemed very engrossing.

But the alternatives are saying it was a good series or a brilliant one (or not voting at all). I don't think it makes sense to say that a series that fits Noisy Oyster's description is good, let alone brilliant:

* most of it was painful and draining to watch
* Some of the most unpleasant housemates I can ever remember
* who were allowed to gang up on and conspire against the decent people.
* Balanced slightly by the final three. <-- Slightly

Caring about housemates is also important to me, btw, but I'm not going to say a series was good just because it contained some HMs I cared about it.

I didn't actually vote because none of the options fit the way I feel. about it but because Luke, Adam and Deana are three of my favourite ever housemates I wanted to explain why.

Those are close to my feelings and more eloquently put than I could manage.
