Something odd they do on You're Fired!...

Hi

I have noticed something rather odd that they always do on You're Fired!

About halfway through the show, they always have a video montage of Sugar and the other candidates talking about whoever has been fired, ending with Sugar explaining why he fired them, over a shot of them getting into the taxi. After this clip, there is always a shot of the underneath of the table that everyone sits at, and then they zoom up so we can see the studio.

Does anyone know why they do the table thing? I don't mind it, I just find it odd and a bit intriguing. If you've never noticed it, go back and look. It happens every single time.

Haha! No, it's a thick table, so you can't actually see people's legs.

Yes, the table has a solid base, so you can't actually see anyone.

Why do you think they do it? It's always at the same point, isn't it?

It's just a simple angle that the producers like and they just keep to it.

I will tape it next week. To make sure I don't miss it.

Probably something about them using pre-recorded footage, and the need a set return point on the set once its finished. I could be totally wrong, taking a wild guess.

No, because they show a lot of pre-recorded footage, and it's only that particular clip that they do that.

Perhaps its to avoid panning back and finding the candidate in tears, so they don't have to do a careful edit?

Ooh, that's an interesting one. Although they generally seem pretty cheerful on the show.
