Been watching The Apprentice for years.... I think this week's corporate task was the worst episode yet. The crappy army stuff, the two guys dressed up like players from It's A Knockout. Crappy content. Perhaps the show has run out of steam?

I agree! I was about to make the same thread. You beat me to it. I can't believe he fired Rebecca.

shockingly dreadful.

Agreed. Pointless, poorly-defined task, and boring boardroom. I suppose we were meant to be laughing at how shit the events were, but they even failed to make them bad in a funny way.

I thought last week's ep was quite good, though,

I was about the state the very same - especially out of the choice he had - a person who 'hates corporate' and another who said she was experienced in these things!! Wrong choice Sugar.

The show seemed a bit infantile. Hopefully they'll bin any corporate tasks from future series.

Wow, I'm really surprised. I thought it was the best episode of the series so far. Each to their own I guess.

LS always talking about his "gut instinct". I think his "gut instinct" is broken!. So far he has chosen by gut instinct two persons that went on maternity leave straight away and another one who sued him for constructive dismissal. You should know better by now LS!

I think people are more annoyed at the firing rather than annoyance at the episode itself...

The episode was pretty awful for almost every candidate. It was quite depressing really, there was very little positivity to take from it.

The only one who came out good was Neil, and seeing Neil's arrogance proved right is one of those things that just shouldn't happen. lol

Good concept... bad execution.

I thought this one was great, my favourite episode of the series so far.

Firstly, it was a new and original task - there are a lot of complaints that there is little variation in the tasks after so many series, and they have never done anything like this before. Secondly, I think we saw both teams doing quite well - Neil on Leah's team, Rebecca and especially Luisa on Francesca's. Thirdly, it wasn't easy to predict which team would win. I actually thought Leah's lot would lose. I didn't agree with the firing, but I thought the episode was really watchable.

I did rather enjoy the cringeworthy moments, it aimed for Office-style awkwardness and I genuinely was entertained - if mortified - by Francesca's 'blagging' and the general feel of the 'army' theme.

Wasn't overly impressed by the boardroom section, it seemed a bit half-hearted and disjointed (largely because the team who put on the most cringeworthy day, with the most to dissect and discuss, actually won).. and the decision was a poor one logically... That made it a bit of a poor episode.

Oh, and also because pretty much all of them left are incredibly dislikeable and therefore it's a tad depressing to watch...

I hated the episode. Everyone seems to be either hateful or just plain awful. I went from not minding Luisa to hating her again, and Fran and Rebecca (I thought they might have potential) crashed and burned, and Leah plummeted down even lower. To top it all off my most loathed candidate (Neil) got over praised. I got nobody left to root for now really.

You could root for Alex or Myles?

I thought there were some very entertaining moments. It was certainly the most cringeworthy task this series. But the second half of the episode - namely everything that happened in the boardroom - just baffled me. It didn't really go the way I expected.
Purple.

I don't like Myles, he's smug and might be reasonably competent but probably not as good as he thinks he is. Alex is alright but found him a bit annoying that episode. The 'drill saergant' stuff was just cringey.

It was dire. Poor implementation followed non-existent planning. The activities were badly run and had little to do with the themes which in turn had nothing to do with the business objectives.

Don't know where to rant about this but it's been bugging me for a while. When Lord Sugar is about to fire someone he's started (it must this series because I don't remember it from past shows) doing this thing where he'll make out like he's about to fire 1 person then say "but" then make out like he's about to fire the 2nd then say "but" for the 3rd time. Tonight I knew he was gonna fire Rebecca before he'd even got to her. It' annoying me

I agree, it annoys me as well. Monkseal calls it the 'fire-teasing'.

I quite liked it too - a new task, uncertainty over the result, and at least lip-service paid to the fact it wasn't just about profit - although I thought the way both teams were hit for the same refund (£1,250). Surely Francesca's team should have been hit harder for missing the brief by so much?

Anyhow, I'd have fired Francesca for sure, but I've never seen Rebecca as a contender so I'm not losing any sleep over the firing either.

On the basis of this task, it was completely the right choice. Re the corporate thing, Lord Sugar has said similar before (though conveniently forgotten so)..

Yes, very annoying, especially when his reasons for not quite firing one of them are stronger than his reasons for firing the one he finally picks.
