They were definitely poor. They'd have been better with even an extra half a day to prep, but I doubt they'd have been *that* much better.

I feel the same as you when I see the candidates struggle with what I consider to be basic maths. That's something that comes naturally to me, but it's obviously much tougher for some candidates than others. (Just as I know I would fall apart in a sales negotiation.)

Ha ha, it least with the other 'events' they tried to apply a bit of the task requirement to the games- turning boules into 'blind boules' for example clearly demonstrated how communication between colleagues is key.

With the sumo suits however, all they did was do a waddling run into a room, bumped chests a couple of times, gave some weak line about facing obstacles or some other guff, and then waddled back out.

I mean come on. WTF!!

Maybe with their businesses, there are some which are doing well in spite of themselves?

Also, I reckon very few people have the ability to transfer skills across industries / types of work with immediate success.

I've no doubt after the fact there are many who could do it all again and be OK but maybe not at the time, especially in these pressurised situations with half the people pretending to support you but stabbing you in the back behind the scenes..

She'll be used to the dynamics of her environment (and I'm sure she is very capable there) which I reckon would be a million myles from the world of Sugar.

I am pretty sure there are many team building games examples to be found online. Many simple and cost-effective games to be selected, surely.

Were they not allowed going online looking for ideas?

im not sure whether they are just given a portfolio and they are restricted to picking from that or doing something off their own back

as you say tho there are loads of very task orientated games or challenges that are great for team building events online that would have worked a lot better

Surely the episode would have been SO boring though if both teams had actually followed the brief, did a brilliant job and all the middle management that attended were really pleased and gave them a pat on the back?

I know I'd find it boring... I watch the Apprentice to be entertained by all the cock ups, all the face palm and cringeworthy moments. I thought the sumo suits were a hilarious idea. The one banker guy's face when the sumo suits came out and started wrestling each other was hilarious! he really didn't look pleased at all.

And I loved the tension between Francesca and Luisa which built up and exploded in the boardroom. It was a really good boardroom, with a surprising firing (I thought Francesca was going). Overall, definetly one of my favourite episodes of the Apprentice.

I'm the opposite, I'm like it when people do well on the show. When someone shines and does great and gets praised for it, that's what I like to see. The cock-ups are fun at the time, but they're only a cheap laugh for a couple of hours. Watching people do well is intriguing because you can try to work out who's going to win.

We do seem to spend a lot of time watching people cooking when that isn't the main point of the exercise. Why did two people from each team have to cook the lunch for the participants? Surely a large venue like that would have its own catering staff so why have potential entrepreneurs peeling carrots and spuds?
