Yes but it had to be unique or else they could of just copied everyone else.

I thought of one while watching, why not match people by their pets?, so instead of an initial photo of the person it would be their pet. I originally thought about just using dogs but suppose any pet would do.
With things like this, you need to have a point of reference in order to have a slightly unique take on things. There are lots of ways dating sites could improve and all have their respective plus/minus points.

I'd rather be accused of lacking originality, than have a website and advertising campaign as woeful as Friendship & Flowers - which wasn't remotely unique in the first place as there are loads of over 50 dating sites.

Alex's first suggestion for the name of the dating agency was hillarious.

"Easy! 50 Shades of Business" - in his assured, Welsh tone. Complete rubbish of course, but his delivery of it made me laugh.

Gotta say, the advert they created for the dating agency was inspired.
I assume that was Alex's idea.

Just a shame the people doing the website couldn't have made use of the "Herbert" character too.
Come up with a bland ad' and a bland website and there's no issue but when you come up with such a memorable ad' it's obvious when it's missing from other facets of the project.

To be fair, though, I thought it was a bit unfair to criticise them too harshly for their lack of uniformity cos it would probably have been tough to get something from the ad' team to the website team in time for them to incorporate it.

The idea for the advert came from Myles and Leah. Alex just got cast in it because he was the ugliest. In fact he was the one pushing hardest for the website to be as bland and corporate as possible.

I felt that they really missed a trick and the name "Cufflinks" should have had a picture of some handcuffs and catered for a more specialist dating market?

I love Alex, he is very entertaining. As a candidate I'm not sure, I wish for once the others would let him PM. That way we could see how credible a candidate he is or if he's just there for entertainment purposes. They may be right in not wanting him to PM, he might be a disaster but on the other hand he may surprise everyone.
