They get ready very quickly

Candidates get a call from Lord Sugars office and " cars will be with you in a half an hour". Within this half an hour they all manage to wake up, get a shower, get dressed, tidy their hair, girls put make up on and all look great. Sounds very , very fast to me.

I think it's obviously staged a little. There's no way those girls (and boys - who was it who was straightening their hair?!) would be able to get ready in half an hour!

I don't know this for sure, but I've always assumed it's a TV half-hour, by which I mean it's actually much longer but they say 30 minutes to imply a sense of urgency. It would be a bit soft if they said "Look, we know it takes you all an hour and a half to get ready, so just take your time and we'll pick up up in 90 rather than 30 minutes, okay?"

Has anyone seen Series 1? In the second episode of that, one of the boys answered the phone, very quietly told the other boys on his team, they all got ready very quietly and only told the girls just before they had to leave! The girls were furious...

It's a good episode actually, even after that bit. It contains one of the biggest cock-ups ever, and probably the first time a team majorly screwed up.

They must have an inkling that the phone is going to ring when the camera crew turns up.

Plus they must have a breakfast . It would be inhuman to have them dashing around for 8 hours without eating .

I'm pretty sure that the camera crew stays in the house with them. They are filmed so much that it wouldn't make much sense for the camera crew to come and go so much. Also the houses are generally pretty large, but we still see that quite a few people share a bedroom. I imagine that at least one of the bedrooms is for the camera crew.
