I might start watching it again if it's less like an episode of TOWIE every night.

Could be interesting, and now the show has become more about the game, the older HMs may be seen as a threat.

A house full of Caroles.

That'll kill the show.

"Older Style of Housemates " and older housemates are not the same thing at all , in fact they are two completely different things altogether

Aaah I missed the word "style". So we may be talking immature, big boobs, fridge raiding, pool lounging, smug dippies? YAYS!!!

Some Alex Sibley type eye candy for me please BB.

I don't mind a couple of older people but I like the different age ranges, they tend to take over the cooking and looking after people, like in bb8 with carol and tracey and that other wormen with the glasses that left they were good, and an older guy

Age range doesn't really matter all that much tbh. It's more about how old the housemates act. I want housemates with a certain level of maturity and depth about them so that they can hold a decent level of conversation.

You see it a lot in the CBB's because most of them have something to actually talk about. It is usually the slightly older housemates, but the younger ones are also perfectly capable of being intelligent and being able to talk about something interesting. Just as some older ones could be shallow and have no point as a character.

What we need is less housemates whose level of conversation stretches to just tits, arse, cocks, getting smashed etc. Housemates with intelligence and wit and a good sense of humour. That is why the earlier series were better IMO.

Even series like BB6 which looks like a "bunch of freaks" on the surface. People like Kemal, Makosi etc. still made for fantastic characters because they had something to talk about.

Why do some people say that as if most people who are 40+ are like Carole? Carole loved control, she was boring. How can anyone say that anyone over 40 will be like Carole?

People seem to think that older housemates are going to take the TOWIE flavour away from the show.... You never heard of Nana Pat?

All of the over-40 HMs so far in the non-celeb BBs have been poor in one way or another, as I've explained for example here.

I say "in one way or another", because there's a range of different reasons. Lesley bb8, for example, seemed to have a lot of potential, but she couldn't hack life in the house and walked in week 2. Jonathan bb8 also had potential, but he had to leave for family reasons. Carole bb8 was a fun-smothering controller and as desperate as they come. She'd tried to be a housemate year after year after year and had -- rightly, as it turned out -- been rejected.

As I said in another thread, I don't think there has ever been a conversation in ordinary BB about art, politics, science, religion, tv, film, the weather, history, cooking, gardening -- or any other subject that involves specific factual knowledge or education -- that's been worth the time it took to hear it. (Gerry's lecture to the stuffed animals may have been interesting, at least as a one-of-a-kind event, but it was not a conversation.)

There have been some interesting conversations, but they tend to involve that dreaded thing, HMs talking about themselves (and their hopes, fears, and experiences). And of course those who like a HM will often find that HM's conversations interesting even if no one else does.

What did they talk about that made them fantastic characters?

They did a lot of bitching, which I suppose isn't "tits, arse, cocks, getting smashed etc.", but I don't think they had even one conversation about something interesting that was worth the time it took to hear it.

If people want interesting conversations, BB has never been a good place to go.

Younger men are normally quite boring on reality tv, better if they are later 20s and upwards.
