Perhaps she doesn't want to be a Doctor, just a thought. Just because you are highly qualified and have a good job doesn't mean you enjoy it.

It's a bit of a waste of an education to go that far then decide you don't want to be a doctor. Whatever, it seems to me that she's entered the medical profession for the wrong reasons and I certainly would be worried if someone like her was put in charge of a patients. She comes across as selfish and doesn't appear to have much patience with people.

It may be a waste but you could say the same of any graduate who goes to work in a different area, which is most of them. In Leah's case, it does seem that her existing business is broadly in the medical sphere, although we cannot be sure that is what she is pitching to Lord Sugar.

As to patience with patients, who knows? Leah certainly seemed to care more about the customers's wishes than did any of her team-mates in the away-days task. In any case, there is some research from America that says the best clinical outcomes are not necessarily from the most empathic doctors, and there is a piece on the BBC site wondering if the compassion pendulum is not swinging too far here as well.

Well perhaps she realised deep into her degree but carried on anyway. She will have accumulated a huge amount of debt doing the degree and would have been under a lot of pressure to continue.

By the way, has it ever been established that Leah does not want to be a doctor, rather than running a medical business at the same time as being a doctor? This thread includes descriptions of Leah as working in the NHS, which suggests we do not need to worry about her wasting her student loans. I've not looked too deeply into the matter for fear of finding spoilers but I dare say we shall learn more on You're Fired (or Hired) when the time comes.
