I agree. He kind of works on Was It Something I Said and was good on Quiz of the Year but I think he would stop Mock the Week in it's tracks. I don't think he was good on A League of their Own and was he on Buzzcocks? I seem to remember him hosting that and it wasn't great, but then again it's not very good these days whoever is hosting.

I like Chris Addison. I also don't see him being on the panel, and the more varied line-ups they have had this series as two mutually exclusive things.

I watched a bit of his Universe tour last night and it was the same jokes as back then, and I found the delivery and stop-start nature annoying "Ladies and gentlemen its great to be here in... Ireland/China/Prison.." and then tell 2 jokes which got chuckles rather than belly laughs, wash, rinse, repeat. Some are OK but I prefer Stuart Francis, Gary Delaney for puns, they seem cleverer and a bit edgier.

I've said before that if you've seen Milton Jones' stand up from 15 or more years ago you'll find his jokes on MtW.

The same goes for Francis though. They are one liners and the standup bit they just cobble together all the jokes they have on that topic.

I downloaded something from Radio 4 ages ago, must have been quite old material as Milton was doing a west country accent, that I've never heard him do before.
Couldn't suffer it for long, stopped listening and deleted it.

Then again, I can only suffer small doses of punning or one liner acts.

Speaking of pushing the boundaries how come they can never make jokes about women. They spend all that time trying to be lads making sexual jokes penis jokes but never work up the courage to make jokes about women, they never work up the courage to make vagina jokes.
Plenty of material there smells, tastes good or bad.

Yes, he's now over in America directing episodes of the HBO show Veep, based on the BBC's The Thick Of It.

MTW is still brilliant, now on Series 14 and 10 years old. Would like to see Jo Caulfield back, also Adam Hills, Micky Flanagan and Lucy Porter.

I take it from the fact that it started and finished late that they were still hitting a little ball around a field at 8.05 and BBC2 was running 5 minutes late?

I thought that was the worst bit of the whole show, his Doctor's surgery thing.

I did like some of his quips throughout the rest of the show though. He's very odd looking, with the neck of a 50 year old.

Even Sara Pascoe grew on me a bit.
